The AHAM is a people’s movement tasked with the objective of tackling corruption in the state as well as addressing different issues concerning livelihood of common

people. It is a people’s movement consisting of committed younger generation leaders at the core, tempered with equally committed experienced elders from all walks of life as Executive Committee (EC). The genesis of this movement began with people sharing common concern, to fight against corruption and ‘syndicate system’ in a democratic principles within the framework of Indian Constitution, it is a movement to fight against corruption that is severely crippling the economy of the State determinedly being perpetuated by different forces inclusive of the corrupt practices. So if you want to voice out..,come and be part of the movement and contribute to build a "JUST" society.

AHAM calls for immediate Anti-Infiltration drive in East Garo Hills

DG News, 12 February 2026: The Achik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM) has urged the East Garo Hills District Administration to launch immediate anti-infiltration drives to curb the increasing influx of undocumented labourers in the region.

In a memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner on Thursday, AHAM General Secretary Aimarong K. Marak expressed concern over the rising immigration across areas including Williamnagar, Rongjeng, Rongmil, Mangsang, Samanda, Rongsak, Chiading, Songsak, and Nangapa etc.

The organisation warned that unchecked entry of undocumented workers could impact local employment, women’s safety, and the overall law and order situation. AHAM has called for regular inspections at workplaces and construction sites, strict enforcement of immigration laws, and safeguards to protect the local economy.

Copies of the memorandum were also sent to Minister Marcuise Marak and the Superintendent of Police, East Garo Hills, seeking urgent intervention.
