Who we are and our mission

The ITYF was founded in 2018. It was born of a meeting between doctors in Yoga and naturopathy who wished to unify practices and teachings in therapeutic Yoga, to achieve international recognition of diplomas and practices in respect of original Yoga.

The International Therapeutic Yoga Federation (ITYF) is a non-profit organisation based to India (Trichy, Tamilnadu) which aims to:

internationally represent, support, promote and develop therapeutic Yoga and Indian traditional medicine; • internationally represent and support therapeutic Yoga and traditional Indian medicine professionals such as doctors, teachers, therapists, nurses, and centres; • support organisations of therapeutic Yoga and traditional Indian medicine around the world by providing certification and training programs. • organise events and conferences related to therapeutic Yoga and traditional Indian medicine; • publish articles, books and journals related to therapeutic Yoga and traditional Indian medicine; • support research related to therapeutic Yoga and traditional Indian medicine; • create and deliver certificates, diplomas and training programs related to therapeutic Yoga and traditional Indian medicine by professionals; • support fragile individuals through therapeutic yoga and traditional Indian medicine.
