Nin Nalam team visited the Nanjalur village in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu and met the people whose resilience and determination to rebuild their lives are remarkable.

The recent floods have left many struggling, disrupting their daily lives and livelihoods. With the support of friends and well-wishers, we provided essential construction tools—spades, digging bars, and bonds—to 12 families. These tools will not only support their work but also create additional income opportunities through rentals.

While spending time with them, we discovered their incredible craftsmanship—beautiful baskets woven from tree coirs and metal wires. However, due to limited market access and unstable incomes, many skilled artisans are forced to take up seasonal daily wage labor just to sustain their families. Some even struggle to afford raw materials to continue their craft.

Their talent deserves better opportunities. If you know any sales channels, can support them financially, or have ideas to help, we would love to connect. Even small efforts can make a big difference—let’s support these communities together!

These tools, provided based on their request, will support their construction work and create additional income opportunities through rentals.
