How does India engage with the world — and what goes on behind the scenes of diplomacy?

TMA recently hosted a guest lecture by Mr. Vasudev Ravi, IFS, who shared valuable perspectives on the functioning of the Ministry of External Affairs and India’s expanding global engagement.

He spoke about India’s growing diplomatic presence across countries, and how sustained outreach through embassies and consulates plays a crucial role in strengthening international relationships.

The session highlighted the evolving nature of diplomacy — where consistent engagement, adaptability, and even small, thoughtful interventions can create meaningful long-term impact.

An insightful session that offered participants a deeper understanding of India’s global footprint and the institutions that shape it.

At the 34th Annual Management Convention, the panel on “Unlocking Kerala’s Potential: Building Scalable Business” brought together Mr. Buvanesh Tharashankar (Group CFO, Manappuram Finance Ltd.), Dr. K. Paul Thomas (Managing Director & CEO, ESAF Small Finance Bank), and Ms. Shalini Warrier (Co-founder & CEO, Gosree Finance Ltd.), and was moderated by Er. Vinod Manjila (Past President, TMA).

The discussion centered around making Kerala a more enabling environment for businesses — with a strong focus on improving ease of doing business and addressing the growing concern of talent moving out of the state.

The panel emphasized the need to create opportunities that not only attract investment, but also retain and nurture local talent.

The message was clear — Kerala has the capability. The next step is building the right ecosystem to unlock it.

The 34th Annual Management Convention by TMA brought together leaders, thinkers, and professionals around this year’s theme — “Reimagining Kerala’s Potential.”

The convention was inaugurated by Dr. Shaji K V, Chairman – NABARD, who reflected on Kerala’s inherent strengths — its human capital, entrepreneurial spirit, and evolving ecosystem — and how these can be leveraged to position the state as a leader in sustainable and inclusive development.

He emphasized that the way forward lies not in reinventing from scratch, but in building strategically on what Kerala already does well.

An evening that began with vision, perspective, and a renewed sense of possibility.

Much of what we go on to become begins in classrooms — in small moments, consistent effort, and the people who shape that experience.

TMA had the opportunity to recognise both sides of that journey.

The Geetha Ravi Memorial Award for Best Mathematics Teacher was presented to Mr. Krishnaprasad U. B., recognising the kind of teaching that stays with students long after they leave.

The TMA Scholarship was presented to Ms. Alfa Jiya Joseph, as part of TMA’s continued effort to recognise and support students in their academic journey.

The TMA Beeline Special Achievers Award was presented to CA P. R. Sreekumar, recognising his professional journey and contribution.

In his address, he spoke about how goals often begin much earlier — in how we see ourselves. He shared how he consciously visualised becoming a Chartered Accountant, and how that clarity, backed by consistent effort, shaped his path.

The TMA – T. R. Raghavan Memorial Best Management Student Award was presented to Ms. Kyrene Joshi, recognising her academic performance and overall excellence.

One journey built over years, another just beginning — both grounded in focus, discipline, and the willingness to grow.

The Dr. K. Gopalan Memorial Lecture is a reminder of a life dedicated to education and institution building. As Vice Chancellor of CUSAT, Director of NCERT, and Educational Advisor to the Government of India, Dr. K. Gopalan played a quiet but lasting role in shaping how we think about education. His legacy continues through platforms like this — where ideas are shared and perspectives are explored.

This year’s lecture by Shri V.K. Sreeraman was both engaging and thought-provoking. In his candid, conversational style, he wove humour with insight, drawing attention to the people and stories we often miss in our usual narratives.

As part of the evening, the Dr. K. Gopalan Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Education was presented to Dr. V. M. Xaviour, recognising his continued work and commitment to education.

The TMA–BPCL Rocket Pitch initiative at WIBC 2026 reflects TMA’s larger vision of creating meaningful platforms for women entrepreneurs.

Designed as a structured, multi-stage process over two months, the initiative provided women-led enterprises with a credible stage to present their ideas, articulate their growth plans, and gain visibility before industry leaders and stakeholders.

At the Finale, Jessy Francis (Neenus Stiching), Mini Gopakumar (KARTHIKA CHIPS), and Ligi Varghese (B.G. Asafoetida) presented their ventures live at Hyatt Regency, Thrissur — demonstrating clarity, commitment, and entrepreneurial drive.

Beyond recognition, the platform aimed to strengthen confidence, credibility, and ecosystem access — reinforcing WIBC’s commitment to enabling enterprise through action, not just dialogue.
