Unlocking Collective Wisdom: A Deep Dive into Liberating Structures

On Saturday, facilitators from diverse backgrounds came together for an energizing and hands-on learning experience on Liberating Structures, led by Bharti Maru Binu & Deepa Mahesh .It was a collection of simple yet powerful facilitation techniques designed to foster inclusion, engagement, and shared ownership.

Throughout the session, participants had the opportunity to experience and apply several structures, including:

1-2-4-All – A progressive method to surface ideas and build consensus

Troika Consulting – A triad-based peer coaching format that encourages active listening and collaborative problem-solving

What? So What? Now What? – A reflective structure to analyze experiences and derive collective meaning

25/10 Crowd Sourcing – A high-energy activity to surface and rank the most actionable solutions

Fishbowl – A dynamic format to model listening, dialogue, and perspective sharing

Gallery Walk – A visual, movement-based technique to showcase and explore ideas

The energy in the room was high, and the session flowed with insight, interaction, and thoughtful reflection. Whether participants were new to Liberating Structures or revisiting them, the session offered a rich toolkit to take back into their own facilitation practice.

Thank you to all who joined us — and to our skilled facilitators for creating such a safe, engaging, and high-impact learning space. We look forward to many more such gatherings in the future!

Thrilled to share the energy and insights from the recent session at the IAF Hyderabad Hub on April 26th, 2025! Dr. Nalini Rajesh (IAF Chennai Hub) and Bhavanajit Arora (IAF Hyderabad Hub) facilitated a session titled When Designing a Session... The session covered critical elements to consider when designing a session, from two dimensions, viz., 'Designer' and 'Design'. 👍

While the dimension 'Designer' shone light on IAF Values, Code of Ethics, and Competencies that every facilitator must consider and embody, the second dimension, 'Design', covered crucial aspects such as 'Multiple Intelligence', diverse Learning Styles and the 'Structure-Spirit Matrix' to highlight the paramount importance of 'Learner Centricity' in crafting truly effective sessions.

Some exhilarating feedback about the session -
