The Goddess in the temple of Chilamapara is worshipped as the Supreme Mother,creator of all living beings and the mighty preserver as well as destroyer of them all.The temple enshrines Goddess Bhadrakali as the presiding deity.The idol stands for Goddess Bhadrakali, the daughter of Lord Shiva.The idol is known in the local Malayalam language as Thirumudi.Other deities worshipped at the Chilampara Devi temple called Upadevatha's temples include Lord Ganeshaand Nagaraja.
