SCM Summer School: The Potters Wheel 2026:
A Journey of Creativity, Realisations & Fellowship
CHRYSALIS Centre for Enabling Life and Learning and SCM Programme Centre organized the SCM Summer School: “The Potters Wheel: Explore, Realise & Shape Life" from April 20th to 30th, 2026 at SCM Programme Centre, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram. Twelve school students attended the Summer School. It was a memorable journey of self-discovery and holistic development.
The daily schedule starts at 9 am with an assembly which comprised of exercises for eyes, vocal, body and a music meditation. After the assembly, the sessions start with a reflective session on life perspectives and skills, followed by story reading and narration, along with presentation of daily news noted from newspapers. After refreshment, the day grows to music workshop. After lunch, the art cafe and then video screening and review. The day concludes with a round of group games, review of the day. In short, the Summer School enabled the young minds to explore art, music, literature, films and group activities; to realise life values, perspectives and skills through listening and practising; and decided to shape their days and life based on their realisations. A parenting session was facilitated for the parents and a sleep over of the participants at SCM Centre, enriching their fellowship and bonding crossing between the families.
The Summer School was inaugurated by Mr. Shal Soman, Psychologist at Loyola College Extension Services, Thiruvananthapuram. The sessions were facilitated by the SCM Team comprising of Rev. Abby Thomas, Mr. Santhosh George Thomas, Ms. Aiswarya P A, Mr. Johnykutty, Mr. Lovewin K Cherian, Ms. Sneha Susan Mathai, Mr. Sangeeth Varghese Mathew, and Ms. Adcy Alex. SCM Summer School concluded on April 30th. The day witnessed musical performances and experience sharing of the participants. SCM ministry for the young minds witnessed a new growth and accomplishment.
