വായന കുറഞ്ഞു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ ബുക്ക് ഫെസ്റ്റിവലുകൾക്ക് ഏറെ പ്രാധാന്യമുണ്ട് എന്നും ശ്രീ. ജയകുമാർ അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടു.

വൈഎംസിഎ - കെബിഎസ് അക്ഷര മേള ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു സംസാരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. ജൂൺ 20 മുതൽ 22 വരെ രാവിലെ 10 മണി മുതൽ വൈകിട്ട് 7 മണി വരെയാണ് പുസ്തക പ്രദർശനം.

അക്ഷര മേളയോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് കോളേജ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കായി അക്ഷര വാദം (DEBATE)
അക്ഷര വെട്ടം (QUIZ),
ഹൈസ്കൂൾ കുട്ടികൾക്കായി സാഹിത്യ രചനാ മത്സരങ്ങൾ, എട്ട് വയസ്സ് വരെയുള്ള കൊച്ചു കുട്ടികൾക്കായി കഥയരങ്ങ്, യുവ എഴുത്തുകാരുമായി സംവാദം, കവിയരങ്ങ്, പുസ്തക പ്രകാശന വർക്ക്ഷോപ്പ്, സിറ ബാൻണ്ടിൻ്റെ സംഗീത വിരുന്ന് എന്നിവയും ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്ന് സംഘാടകർ അറിയിച്ചു.

വൈഎംസിഎ പ്രസിഡൻ്റ് അഡ്വ. ഇടിക്കുള സക്കറിയ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു. പബ്ലിക്ക് റിലേഷൻസ് വകുപ്പ് ചെയർമാൻ ഡോ. പോൾ സാമുവൽ, വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ബെൻസി വി. തോമസ്, കേരള ബുക്ക് സ്റ്റോഴ്സ് സിഈഓമാരായ ജോജോ ജെയിംസ്, ബിജുലാൽ ചക്കോ എന്നിവർ സംസാരിച്ചു.

ഏകദേശം മുന്നൂറ് പ്രസാധകരുടെ, ഒരു ലക്ഷത്തിൽ പരം പുസ്തകങ്ങളാണ് മുന്ന് ദിവസം നീണ്ടു നിൽക്കുന്ന ബുക്ക് ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിൽ ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. മേള ജൂൺ 22 ഞയറാഴ്ച്ച അവസാനിക്കുന്നതാണ്.

08 March 2025 – WOMENS DAY

YMCA Celebrates Women's Day with Mothers
YMCA celebrated World Women's Day with the mothers and other residents of Karuna Layam Old Age Home in Pothencode as part of the World Women's Day celebrations.
Sister Blessy, Director of Karuna Layam, Sister Ramya, and Sister Rosalette, who lead selfless service for the destitute, were honored with gifts and shawls.
Adv. Idicula Zacharia, President of YMCA, Bency V. Thomas, Vice President and Chairman of the Women Empowerment Department, and Dr. Arthur Jacob, Board Member, spoke at the event. Varghese Joseph, Charity Chairman, David Gaineos, Public Health & Social Service Chairman, Philip Chandy, Program Convener, and Bitty Varghese, Secretary, provided leadership.
Dr. Shoba Mathew, YMCA member and Family Planning Association Manager, conducted a class on the topic of healthy living.
There were entertainment programs including a mouth organ performance by Charity Chairman Varghese Joseph, cultural programs, games, and magic presented by young volunteers from the Family Planning Association.
The program concluded with lunch.

07-08 March 2025 YMCA ANNUAL CONVENTION
The Annual Bible Convention, organized by the Spiritual Committee, was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Christudas R, the Auxiliary Bishop of the Latin Archdiocese of Trivandrum. Rev. Fr. D. S. Arun, Vicar CSI Church Poojapura delivered the message.

23 FEBRUARY 2025 - LEADERSHIP CLASS FOR TRIBAL COMMUNITY

The Public Health and Social Services Committee conducted a Health and hygiene awareness session for children and a Leadership training program for tribal social workers at Kotoor, near Kattakada, ysday. The sessions were led by Adv. Sam Franklin, Dr. Shobha Mathew and Mr. V.S. Samuel. Mr. Bency V. Thomas, Vice President, inaugurated the event, which was presided over by Chairman David Gainneos. YMCA Member Mr. Philip Chandy was also present. Mr. Bitty Varghese, Secretary, Coordinated the program.

The program was highly beneficial for all the participants, and we look forward to organizing more such initiatives in the future.
