Holy Spirit - The Promised Comforter

Holy Spirit - The Promised Comforter Apostle Paul clearly taught that we receive the Holy Spirit (third person of Triune God) the moment we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior.

The filling of Holy Spirit is an ongoing process in the Christian life. Like + Share this page with others. Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again". (John 3:5–7)

When a sinner believes on

the Lord Jesus as the Christ, trusting Him alone to forgive all sins, then the Holy Spirit come into one's heart what it means to be "born again" spiritually. So, a person needs to be born again in order to have their sins forgiven and have a relationship with God. Jesus said; It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper [Holy spirit] will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.(John 16:7-11)

Jesus said; And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate [Holy spirit] to help you and be with you forever-the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. (John 14:16-18)

However, when He [Holy spirit], the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.(John 16:13-15)

Holy Spirit is the seal of salvation for all those who believe & receive Jesus christ as lord & savior. The Holy Spirit is God’s seal on His people, his claim on us as His very own. The receiving/indwelling of the Spirit occurs at the moment of salvation. Holy Spirit is the presence of God that guides us, teaches us, comforts us, rebukes us, reminds us of Scriptures, convicts us, loves us, intercedes in prayer for us, empowers us, heals us, enlightens us etc... So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. (Romans 8:6)

(Romans 8:9)- tells us that if a person does not possess the Holy Spirit & do not produce fruits of Holy spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control), he or she does not belong to Jesus Christ. We know that anyone born of God [Born again] does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (1 John 5:18-20)

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession-to the praise of his glory.(Ephesians 1:13–14)

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.(Ephesians 4:30-32)

📖 Key Text: Philippians 3:18-19
“For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.”

🌌 INTRODUCTION

The greatest danger to the church is not:
❌ atheism
❌ liberalism
❌ globalism
❌ islam
❌ communism
❌ persecution
But false religion wearing Christian language.

Many preachers today:
⚠️ reject grace
⚠️ corrupt the gospel
⚠️ add works with grace
⚠️ mix law with grace
⚠️ preach prosperity
⚠️ glorify self instead of Christ
⚠️ preach another Christ, another gospel, another Spirit

👉 According to the Apostle Paul, those who pervert the Gospel are: “accursed” (Galatians 1:8-9)

In the Dispensational truth:
✅ salvation is by grace alone
✅ through faith alone
✅ in Christ alone
✅ apart from works
False preachers oppose the finished work of Christ. They reject the message of CROSS is sufficient for salvation. Anything add or replace the message of cross comes from the pits of hell.

⚠️ JUDAS ISCARIOT: CLOSE TO CHRIST BUT LOST

(Lessons from the Man Who Betrayed the Savior)

📖 John 6:70–71
“Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

📖 INTRODUCTION

👉 Judas Iscariot is one of the most tragic characters in the Bible.
He:
• walked with Jesus Christ
• witnessed miracles
• heard divine teaching
• served among the apostles
Yet he was never truly saved.

💥 Judas life proves a powerful truth:
👉 A person can be near Christ but never know Christ personally.
👉 In the dispensation of grace, salvation & eternal life is clearly revealed through the Gospel of Grace: 📖 1 Corinthians 15:1–4

⚡ But Judas lived before the cross and became an example of someone who was religious but lost.

Let us examine seven tragic realities about Judas Iscariot.

1️⃣ CHOSEN BUT UNCHANGED
(Selected as an apostle but never spiritually transformed)
📖 Luke 6:13–16
Explanation:
Judas was chosen to be part of the twelve apostles, yet his heart remained unchanged.

Sub-points:
• Chosen for position
📖 Luke 6:13
• Called to ministry
📖 Matthew 10:1
• Close to the Messiah
📖 John 12:4
• Corrupt in heart
📖 John 12:6

2️⃣ DISCIPLE BUT DEVILISH
(A follower outwardly but wicked inwardly)
📖 John 6:70
Explanation:
Jesus Himself declared that Judas was a devil, showing his true spiritual nature.

Sub-points:
• Devilish character revealed
📖 John 6:70
• Deceptive conduct practiced
📖 Matthew 26:25
• Double-minded loyalty
📖 Psalm 41:9
• Diabolical influence accepted
📖 Luke 22:3

3️⃣ ASSOCIATED BUT UNREGENERATED
(Connected to Christ but never born again)
📖 John 13:10–11
Explanation:
Judas was among believers but never spiritually cleansed.

Sub-points:
• Associated with disciples
📖 Acts 1:17
• Attended the ministry of Jesus
📖 Matthew 26:20
• Accepted among the twelve
📖 John 13:21
• Absent of true salvation
📖 John 13:11

4️⃣ REMORSEFUL BUT NOT REPENTANT
(Felt guilt but never experienced true repentance)
📖 Matthew 27:3–5
Explanation:
Judas felt regret, but his sorrow was not genuine repentance.

Sub-points:
• Regret over sin
📖 Matthew 27:3
• Returned the silver
📖 Matthew 27:5
• Realized his betrayal
📖 Matthew 27:4
• Rejected God's mercy
📖 Matthew 27:5

5️⃣ USED BUT UNSAVED
(God used him in prophecy but he was not redeemed)
📖 John 17:12
Explanation:
Judas fulfilled prophecy but remained lost.

Sub-points:
• Used in God's sovereign plan
📖 Acts 1:16
• Unfaithful in stewardship
📖 John 12:6
• Unbelieving in heart
📖 John 6:64
• Unredeemed in soul
📖 John 17:12

6️⃣ SEDUCED BY SATAN
(Influenced and controlled by the enemy)
📖 Luke 22:3
Explanation:
Satan entered Judas because his heart was open to evil. "The love of money is the root of all evil" (1 Timothy 6:10) highlights that excessive desire or greed for wealth—not money itself—causes corruption, moral compromise, and harm to others. It acts as a warning against putting wealth above virtue, relationships, or ethics, which can lead to destructive behaviors and inner emptiness.

Sub-points:
• Satanic temptation
📖 John 13:2
• Spiritual surrender to evil
📖 Luke 22:3
• Sinful greed
📖 Matthew 26:15
• Selfish betrayal
📖 Luke 22:48

7️⃣ SENTENCED TO DESTRUCTION
(His destiny was eternal loss)
📖 Acts 1:25
Explanation:
Scripture teaches Judas went to his own place of judgment.

Sub-points:
• Son of perdition
📖 John 17:12
• Self-inflicted death
📖 Matthew 27:5
• Scripture fulfilled
📖 Acts 1:16
• Separated forever from Christ
📖 Acts 1:25

🏁 CONCLUSION

👉 Judas Iscariot is a sobering warning to us.
He proves that a person can:
• attend religious gatherings
• serve in ministry
• appear spiritual
Yet still be lost without true faith.

The tragedy of Judas teaches:
👉 proximity to Christ is not the same as faith in Christ.
Salvation today is clearly revealed through the Gospel of Grace.
📖 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.

📣 CALL TO ACTION

Ask yourself honestly:
• Are you near religion/church but far from Christ?
• Have you truly believed the Gospel of Grace?
• Are you trusting Christ alone for salvation?

👉 Do not follow Judas' path.
👉 Believe the Gospel today.
👉 Trust the risen Savior.

💡 FINAL THOUGHTS

🎺 WHEN THE TRUMP OF GOD SOUNDS

🔰 INTRODUCTION

🔥 The Trumpet in this passage is not Israel’s feast trumpets, not a judgment trumpet, and not Revelation’s trumpet.
👉 It is “the trump of God”—a unique call for the Body of Christ (church) alone.

This event belongs to the Dispensation of Grace, revealed to apostle Paul by revelation (1 Cor. 15:51). When it sounds, everything changes in a moment.

🔤 5 PREACHING POINTS (T-R-U-M-P)

1️⃣ T — TRUMPET SUMMONS THE BODY
The trumpet is a calling sound, not a warning. Only the body of Christ (church) hears the calling sound.

Trumpet of God – A divine summons, not angelic. (1 Thess. 4:16)
Timing Sudden – In a moment of twinkling eye, without advance signs. (1 Cor. 15:52)
Targeted Specifically – The Body of Christ (church). (Eph. 1:22–23)
Truth Revealed – A mystery once hidden. (1 Cor. 15:51)
Transition Triggered – From earth to glory. (Phil. 3:20)
➡️ This Trumpet is for believers in Christ only.

2️⃣ R — RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD IN CHRIST
Physical death does not stop God’s promise.

Raised First – Dead in Christ rise before the living believers. (1 Thess. 4:16)
Redeemed Bodies – Incorruptible and glorified body like resurrected Jesus. (1 Cor. 15:42–44)
Resurrection Certain – Guaranteed by Christ’s resurrection. (1 Cor. 15:20)
Rest Concluded – Sleep in Christ ends. (1 Thess. 4:14)
Reunion Assured – United again with loved ones. (1 Thess. 4:17)
➡️ The grave loses its victory. No more death, pain, sickness or sorrows.

3️⃣ U — UPWARD CATCHING AWAY
The word Rapture means caught up supernaturally by God before the wrath of God falls on earth (7 year tribulation).

Upward Motion – Caught up, not called down (1 Thess. 4:17)
Unexpected Moment – Like a thief (1 Thess. 5:2)
Unified Movement – All believers in the world together (1 Cor. 15:51)
Unchanged Identity – Still ourselves, but glorified body (Phil. 3:21)
Unending Hope – Blessed hope for church fulfilled (Titus 2:13)
➡️ Grace ends with glory, not wrath.

4️⃣ M — MEETING THE LORD IN THE AIR
Only the body of Christ meets Jesus in the air. Every eye sees Jesus is the glorious Second Coming of Christ, not Rapture. Both returns of Jesus are separate events.

Meeting Mid-Air – Not on the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem (1 Thess. 4:17)
Mediator Welcomed – Jesus Himself receives us (John 14:3)
Manifestation of Sons – Revealed with Christ (Col. 3:4)
Marvelous Communion – Face-to-face fellowship (1 John 3:2)
➡️ We meet Him before judgment falls on earth.

5️⃣ P — PARADISE WITH CHRIST FOREVER
The Rapture leads to eternal security.

Place Prepared – Heavenly home promised (John 14:2)
Position Perfected – Glorified with Christ (Rom. 8:17)
Protection Complete – Delivered from the wrath of God (1 Thess. 1:10)
Purpose Fulfilled – Reigning with Christ (2 Tim. 2:12)
Permanence Guaranteed – Ever with the Lord (1 Thess. 4:17)
➡️ The Church’s future is heavenly, not earthly.

🧾 CONCLUSION
One trumpet.
One moment.
One eternal separation.
Jesus is coming for his blood bought church first, then for Israel.
Don’t be left behind.
👉 The question is not if the trumpet will sound—
The question is are you in Christ?

📣 CALL TO ACTION

🔊 Believe the Gospel of Grace (1 Cor. 15:1–4)
🕊️ Be Saved by Grace Alone (Eph. 2:8–9)
⬆️ Be Ready for the Rapture (Titus 2:13)
📖 Be Rooted in Right Division (2 Tim. 2:15)
