Adhwana is a not-for-profit non-governmental development organization registered in 2002 under Societies Act XXI of 1860. The original objective of the organization was to promote functional vocational skills among school dropout youth of socially and economically backward sections of people. In course of time, the objectives and perspectives of the organization got widened to include various sect

ors of sustainable development, touching the lives of diverse marginalized communities in and outside Kerala. The operational areas include all states and union territories of India. Organizational Objectives:

International Women’s Day 2026 Celebrated

International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm through a joint programme organized by Menamkulam St. Jacob’s Training College and Adhwana at the college auditorium. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Sunitha M. V., District Women Protection Officer, State Women and Child Development Department, Thiruvananthapuram. The function was presided over by College Principal Dr. Lidson Raj.
Speakers at the event included Kadinamkulam Panchayat Member Jacintha, College Vice Principal Fr. Thaddeus Philip, Bluepoint Director Baby Prabhakar, Women’s Commission Councillor Sonia, and Adhwana Legal Counsellor Adv. Rakhi V. R.. They spoke on the International Women’s Day theme “Rights, Justice, Action: For All Women and Girls”, highlighting issues related to domestic violence in Kerala and the need for collective action to ensure women’s safety and empowerment.
Students of the college presented a variety of cultural programmes, adding colour and vibrancy to the celebrations.
The closing ceremony was presided over by College Manager Fr. Albert M.. Adhwana Chairperson Dr. Mary John J. welcomed the gathering, and College Women’s Day Coordinator Dr. Elizabeth Samuel delivered the vote of thanks.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the distinguished guests, speakers, organizers, and students who contributed their time and efforts to make this International Women’s Day programme a great success. Your support, participation, and commitment to the cause of women’s rights and empowerment made the event truly meaningful and memorable. NATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR STRATEGIC PLAN FOR VINCENTIANS
Excited to share my experience of being part as a facilitator of the team that crafted the Strategic Plan for Social Development Interventions of the Mary Matha Province of the Vincentian Congregation.
The program began with a brief inaugural session on 27th October 2025 and concluded with a valedictory function on 31st October 2025. By the end of the workshop, participants evaluated the program as excellent and highly useful, noting that it would serve as a guiding framework for the province’s future social development initiatives.
The workshop comprehensively covered the vision, mission, core values, strategic activities, and impact areas of the province, along with exploring specific opportunities in relevant social sectors across the country.
The sessions witnessed the full and active participation of key leaders, including Fr. Mathew Pothalil VC, the Assistant Superior General of the Vincentian Congregation, Fr. Biju Moonjely VC, the Councillor for Mission, Social and Charitable Works, Fr. Dibin Perinchery VC, the Director of Social Work, Mary Matha Province and the Regional Superior & Director of the Good Shepherd Region (Andhra and Telengana), and the Mission Superior of St. Vincent’s Mission, North-East India, and the Social Work Director of St. Joseph’s Province, Kottayam and representatives of St. Paul’s Mission, Maharashtra. The participants represented 10 states from various parts of India.

The Adhwana Service Providing Center, in collaboration with CDS members of Kadinamkulam Village, organized an awareness session at the Desasevini Library Hall. The session was facilitated by Smt. Adv. Rakhi V. R. and was officially inaugurated by Smt. Mary John Sir through her inaugural address.

The event commenced with a welcome speech by CWF Smt. Santhikrishna. Kudumbashree members from various wards actively participated in the programme. In her inaugural address, Dr.Adv. Mary John Sir shared valuable insights and emphasized the significance and relevance of Service Providing Centers (SPCs) in the present context.

Adv. Rakhi V. R. led an engaging and informative session on Parenting and Legal Awareness, offering participants a thought-provoking experience and encouraging meaningful reflections among the parents in attendance.
