We are ecstatic to celebrate the inauguration of the Captain Lakshmi Inclusive Park—a space fundamentally designed on the principle that play and recreation are a right, not a privilege, for every person, regardless of ability.
This park is a major step forward for the disabled community in Thiruvananthapuram, featuring:
Adaptive Play Equipment: Swings and merry-go-rounds designed for wheelchair users.
Accessible Pathways: Smooth, gradient-friendly paths ensuring ease of navigation for mobility aids.
Sensory Areas: Spaces thoughtfully created to engage children with various sensory processing needs.
This transformative project was made possible by the incredible collaboration and commitment of the Central Institute on Mental Retardation (CIMR) and Allianz Services
This is more than a park; it's a testament to our city's dedication to empowerment, dignity, and equal access for people with disabilities. We invite everyone to experience this truly inclusive space!
