Second Day
The second day of the Leadership Summit ’26 unfolded with moments that will remain etched in the hearts of every participant. As dawn broke over the serene waters of Vembanattu Kayal, the camp began with a refreshing and soul-stirring boating experience. Surrounded by gentle ripples, cool breezes, and the timeless beauty of nature, the leaders of the Indian Red Cross Society shared smiles, conversations, and quiet reflections. The tranquil journey fostered a deep sense of unity, reminding everyone that humanitarian leadership is not only about responsibility, but also about connection, balance, and shared joy. The experience rejuvenated minds and hearts alike, leaving everyone inspired and energized for the day ahead.
Following the boating session, all participants returned to the campsite, where the training sessions resumed with renewed enthusiasm. The classes were engaging, insightful, and purpose-driven, reinforcing leadership values, strategic thinking, and collaborative action. Each session encouraged reflection on real-world challenges and practical solutions, strengthening the participants’ commitment to humanitarian service.
After lunch, the camp witnessed one of its most impactful segments. Representatives from each district branch came together to prepare a comprehensive five-year action plan, envisioning the future growth and strengthened service delivery of the Indian Red Cross Society. These plans reflected dedication, innovation, and a deep understanding of local humanitarian needs. The presentations that followed showcased clarity of vision, teamwork, and a shared determination to serve society with greater effectiveness and compassion.
The closing ceremony was held with dignity and pride, marking a meaningful conclusion to the leadership camp. The meeting was presided over by Adv. K. Radhakrishnan, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, whose guidance and leadership continue to inspire the organization. The ceremony was inaugurated by Adv. K. Francis George, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Kottayam, who emphasized the vital role of Red Cross leaders in building a humane and resilient society.
Addressing the gathering were Mr. Joby Thomas, Vice Chairman, IRCS; Mr. S. Ajayakumar, General Secretary, IRCS; Mr. Mohankumar G., Treasurer, IRCS; and Mr. Sumesh K. S., State Committee Member. Their speeches reflected appreciation for the collective efforts of district branches and highlighted the importance of accountability, vision, and sustained commitment in humanitarian leadership.
During the ceremony, a detailed evaluation of past years’ performance was presented, followed by the announcement of awards recognizing excellence and dedication. Honors were conferred for Best District Branch of IRCS, Best Junior Red Cross (JRC) Unit, Best JRC Coordinator, and other outstanding contributions. These recognitions celebrated hard work, innovation, and exemplary service, motivating all branches to strive for higher standards.
Mr. Mithun and Mr. Ratheesh were specially appreciated for the insightful and engaging classes they conducted during the camp, which greatly enriched the learning experience of the participants.
The program concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants, symbolizing not just completion of a training camp, but the beginning of renewed leadership journeys. As the summit came to a close, participants departed with enriched knowledge, strengthened bonds, and a shared resolve to translate learning into meaningful humanitarian action.
