Cyber Awareness Session for Rural Women in Ammanimala.

The Social Engagement Centre of Digital University Kerala, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Trivandrum, organized a cyber security awareness session for rural women as part of the NSS camp hosted by Loyola College, Thiruvananthapuram.

The session aimed to enhance digital literacy and equip participants with practical knowledge to safeguard themselves against increasing cyber threats. More than 50 women attended the programme and actively engaged in discussions and interactive activities. The session focused on common online risks such as phishing calls, OTP fraud, social media misuse, online financial scams, and privacy protection. Participants were also guided on safe digital practices, including creating strong passwords, identifying suspicious links, securing mobile devices, and reporting cyber crimes to the appropriate authorities.

Hizan Rahman a Cyber Security student, led the session with practical demonstrations and real-life examples, making the content accessible and relatable for the audience. Project Officer Arya R Chandra and Project Associate FOUSIYA CK. also facilitated the session, addressing participants’ queries and emphasizing the importance of responsible digital behaviour.
The programme served as an important outreach initiative, strengthening community engagement and promoting cyber resilience among rural women through awareness and education.

The Let Us Dream Annual Community Conference 2025 in Thiruvananthapuram brought together changemakers committed to building resilient, compassionate communities. Held on 29 November at CHRIST University’s Nodal Office, the event featured expert sessions and meaningful discussions led by NGOs, youth leaders, academics, and community representatives. Fourteen dedicated DUK student volunteers ensured seamless coordination throughout the day. The Social Engagement Centre of Digital University Kerala participated actively, with Prof. Pradeep Kumar K, Dr. K G Satheesh Kumar, Mrs. Arya R Chandra, and Ms. Fouciya C K attending. A proud moment was DUK student Hizan Rahman speaking at the conference, reflecting strong student leadership.
