About two years ago, our team took a decision to teach and mentor the children of Sri Chitra Home. What began as a short vacation class soon became something far more meaningful. Those sessions were special. The children were curious, eager, and deeply willing to learn, even though there were initial struggles.
When that vacation program came to an end, the children didn’t want us to leave. They cried, held our hands, and made us promise that we would come back to teach them again. That moment stayed with us. It was then that we decided we would do our best for these children, not as a one-time effort, but as a long-term commitment.
Securing permissions, finding the right CSR partner, doing the background work and setting the syllabus for comprehensive development took time and persistence. We were not looking for a company that viewed CSR as just another project. We were searching for a partner who shared our vision of sustainable, long-term projects - to guide, support, and help children become the best versions of themselves.
UST, which has been associated with us for over three years, became one of our first choice. Their understanding of social responsibility goes beyond checklists and timelines - it aligns with purpose and impact. During a meeting with Alexander Varghese, President of UST, we shared our vision for this project and he was more than happy to take this discussion forward with the UST team. Now, we are officially associated with UST for this project.
For the past three months, we have been teaching at Sri Chitra Home almost every day. The children’s enthusiasm, consistency, and dreams continue to inspire us and reaffirm why this mission matters. (Expect more stories on this😁)
Grateful for the partnerships, trust, and shared vision that make this possible and thanking Geromic George Sir for bringing up this project to us.
