Rotary Club of Thane Hills (RCTH) was chartered on May 20, 1991. The idea of this club was sown sometime around October 1990 when a group of like-minded professionals and businessmen came together to form a new Rotary club. The idea of this new club was mooted by Rotary Club of Thane North, with strong support from the then President Nana Khambete and PP Suresh Dhawan. Bhoomreddi’s residence and after the initial work of 7 months, the club got its charter. RCTH started its journey under the able leadership of PP Late Vasant Zalani as the Club President and PP (Dr.) Suhas Kulkarni as the Club Secretary. There were about thirty charter members and it is a matter of pride for us that close to one-third of those charter members continue to be the members of this prestigious club. In the last 25 years of its existence, RCTH has grown by leaps and bounds and has turned into a strong tree from a sapling sown 25 years back. Today, the club’s strength has risen to more than 100 members and growing steadily with every passing year. In all these years, RCTH has been led by very able leaders and teams, who have made this club as one of the leading clubs in the District and the Rotary world. Every year, RCTH has undertaken numerous projects for the community welfare. In fact, in 2000, RCTH founded a charitable Trust called Triumph Foundation and executes various social initiatives and community-based projects through this foundation. Besides the annual projects like the Triumph Run (sports events for special children), Senior Citizen Health check-ups, Vocational Guidance Seminars, RCTH has undertaken some huge projects in the past. Listed below are a few of our Landmark projects:

1. Earthen Dam Project at Shirol
2. Tribal Employment Scheme
3. Self-employment Centre for Destitute women at Premdhaan at Airoli, New Mumbai
4. Triumph Garden at Jidd School
5. Infrastructure for Vocational Training in Special School
6. Upgradation for Crematorium at Thane
7. Career Training Centre at Holy Cross Convent Special school at Thane
8. Infrastructual Assistance to Tribal school, Utavali Village, Wada.
9. Triumph Blood Bank and Thalassemia Day-care centre
10. ‘Right to Go’ – building Toilet blocks for villagers in Sogav.
11. Check dams at Shahpur
We are sure that this has just been a beginning of RCTH’s golden journey and it will grow by every passing year and contribute in all its might to bring in a positive change and cheer in the society.

🌟 Thursday Weekly Meeting-7 🌟
Date: 13 August 2026

The Rotary Club of Thane Hills came together for an evening of fellowship, learning and inspiration at Olethia, Wagle, Thane.

Guest Speaker Gaurang Jawle shared practical ideas on making our homes and workplaces more beautiful by creatively using what we already have. He also spoke about how our surroundings can influence our mood and energy, with an interesting perspective on colour combinations and their impact on a space.

His message was simple and inspiring: you don't always need something new to create something beautiful — sometimes, you just need a new perspective.

The evening was enriched by the presence of our members, Anns, guests and prospective members.

Thank you, Gaurang Jawle, for an engaging and insightful session!
