Saarth – Autism Screening Camp: A Sensitive and Future-Oriented Initiative by Rotary Club of Badlapur Industrial Area

Badlapur, August 15, 2026: With the message “Early Identification • Early Intervention • Brighter Future,” Rotary Club of Badlapur Industrial Area, under the priority initiatives of Rotary International District 3142, organized “Saarth – Autism Screening Camp” on August 15 in Badlapur. The initiative aimed to promote early identification of developmental concerns among young children, create awareness among parents, and provide access to expert guidance wherever required.

The camp was organized in collaboration with the expert team from Get Set Early at ID International School and Little Sunshine Preschool, Raut Chowk, Badlapur. A total of 33 children between 1.5 and 3.5 years of age underwent preliminary screening. Of these, 9 children were identified as requiring further developmental assessment and expert guidance.

The camp was inaugurated by Rtn. Dr. Nilesh Jaywant, District Governor, Rotary International District 3142. Rtn. Dr. Amol Ubale, President, Rotary Club of Badlapur Industrial Area, and Rtn. Dr. Dilip Mangekar, Project Head, welcomed the guests and participants.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nilesh Jaywant emphasized that early identification of autism and developmental differences is extremely important for a child’s future. Timely identification enables parents to access appropriate guidance, training, counselling, and interventions, thereby creating better opportunities for the child’s overall development. He urged parents not to approach autism with fear or misconceptions, but to prioritize early screening and appropriate professional guidance.

Appreciating the Saarth initiative, Dr. Jaywant expressed the expectation that the project should be expanded on a larger scale across the district. He also emphasized the need to create greater awareness and sensitivity towards autism among parents, teachers, schools, and society.

Badlapur, August 15, 2026: With the message “Early Identification • Early Intervention • Brighter Future,” Rotary Club of Badlapur Industrial Area organized the Saarth – Autism Screening Camp at ID International School and Little Sunshine Preschool, Raut Chowk, Badlapur.

A total of 33 children aged 1.5 to 3.5 years underwent preliminary screening, and 9 children were advised further developmental assessment and expert guidance.

The camp was inaugurated by Rtn. Dr. Nilesh Jaywant, District Governor, Rotary District 3142, who emphasized the importance of early identification and timely intervention for the better development and future of children. He also encouraged parents to overcome misconceptions and seek timely professional guidance.

The initiative was conducted under Rotary District 3142’s “OM – Oral & Mental Health” focus and will be conducted twice every month at pre-primary schools in Badlapur.

रोटरी युथ एक्स्चेंज प्रोग्रॅमअंतर्गत जर्मनीहून यास्परचे आगमन रोटरी एक्स्चेंज प्रोग्रॅम अंतर्गत जर्मनीहून आलेल्या यास्पर याचे ४ ऑगस्ट २०२६ रोजी पहाटे १.४५ वाजता मुंबई विमानतळावर आगमन झाले. यास्परचे भारतात आगमन होताच रोटरी क्लब ऑफ अर्नाच्या वतीने त्याचे उत्साहात आणि आपुलकीने स्वागत करण्यात आले. यावेळी क्लबच्या सदस्या श्रीमती भारती, क्लबच्या फाऊंडर मेंबर सौ. सरेखा सदलापूर मॅडम, माजी अध्यक्षा सौ. राजश्री आहेर, तसेच रोटरीच्या आउटबाऊंड एक्स्चेंज स्टुडंट स्वानंदी आहेर या विमानतळावर उपस्थित होत्या. यास्परच्या भारतातील वास्तव्यात त्याला भारतीय संस्कृती, परंपरा, शिक्षण आणि सामाजिक जीवनाचा जवळून अनुभव घेता येणार आहे. रोटरीच्या या आंतरराष्ट्रीय युवा देवाणघेवाण कार्यक्रमामुळे विविध देशांतील तरुणांमध्ये मैत्री, सांस्कृतिक देवाणघेवाण आणि परस्पर समज वाढण्यास मदत होते. यास्परच्या भारतातील वास्तव्यासाठी क्लबच्या वतीने त्याला मनःपूर्वक स्वागत आणि हार्दिक शुभेच्छा देण्यात आल्या.

Rotary Club of Thane proudly participated in the Friendverse 2026 – Friendship Day Celebration at Korum Mall, Thane, with our Rotarians and Rotaractors coming together to celebrate friendship and community spirit.

🏓 Pickleball activity was jointly conducted with Rotaract Club of Thane, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the event.

❤️ A Red Cross awareness stall and Chronic pain stall, led by Rtn. Dr. Vijay Patil, showcased Rotary’s commitment to community service.

🌟 A special prime-time presentation gave Rotary Club of Thane an opportunity to showcase its impactful community service projects to the public.

🕊️ A 17-Year Journey of Compassion
In 2007, Rtn. Maru’s late wife began this mission in Patalganga by fostering a small group of mentally challenged children from lower economic backgrounds. Following her passing, Rtn. Maru turned personal grief into his life’s ultimate calling in her loving memory. Alongside him, Mr. Dilip Jethe and his family have devoted their lives to keeping this vision alive.

🏡 A Holistic Residential Haven
Operating completely without any government aid, the Matimand School in Karjat currently provides full-time residential care to 35 students (ages 6 to 18) who are government-certified low IQ / special needs children belonging to economically weaker sections where parents cannot afford specialized care.

हरित अंबरनाथ – Waste to Wealth Initiative - Production of Organic Compost from Dry Leaves

Innovative Eco-Friendly Initiative by Rotary Club of Ambarnath North

On 7 August 2026 at 7:30 PM, an eco-friendly project for producing organic compost from dry leaves was inaugurated at the office of Ambarnath Shetkari Samudayik Sahakari Society Ltd. (Farming Society), Ambarnath.

Under this initiative, approximately 10 tonnes of dry leaves and garden waste are being scientifically decomposed and converted into organic compost. This is an important activity for the Farming Society and is also in line with the Government’s guidelines that natural waste such as dry leaves should not be burned.

The project was initiated following discussions between Mr. Rajesh Suresh Bhavsar, President, Rotary Club of Ambarnath North, and the Farming Society office bearers — President Mr. Vishwas Maske, Secretary Mr. Deepak Pawar, and Vice President Mr. Sawardekar.

The first phase of the project was inaugurated by Rotary International District 3142 District Governor, Rtn. Dr. Nilesh Jaywant.

The project was demonstrated to all those present. After inspecting the composting process, Dr. Nilesh Jaywant appreciated the initiative and observed that the process does not create any unpleasant odour.

Also present on the occasion were AG Rtn. Nitin Mahajan, DS Rtn. Sandeep Chaudhary, and Rtn. Senate Balan.

Dr. Nilesh Jaywant addressed the members and citizens and highlighted the importance of organic compost. He encouraged people to seek proper scientific guidance and adopt household composting practices.

Mr. Rajesh Bhavsar also guided the citizens and announced another community-oriented initiative. A free training programme on preparing compost from kitchen waste and making useful preparations for terrace gardening from easily available kitchen materials will be conducted at the Farming Society office on one Sunday every month. Participants successfully completing the training will be awarded certificates by the Society.

The schedule for these training programmes will be finalized in consultation with the Society office bearers and subsequently announced through Instagram and Facebook.

The programme was conducted by IPP Rtn. Pralhad Ramchandra Jadhav. The district guests were welcomed by Club Secretary Rtn. Anand Raghavan and Treasurer Rtn. Kavita Roy.
