Akshayashakti Welfare Association is an NGO with a motto to Help, Heal, Educate and Empower since 2010. AkshayaDhaaga is the flagship project of AkhayaShakti to skill women in tailoring and allied skills courses. A 150-hour course, spaced in 3-months, AkshayaDhaaga gives a 360 degree transformation to women. As the women learn the tailoring skills, she also gets equipped with leadership skills like communication, confidence and collaboration. An overview in financial, digital and legal literacy is also part of the course which is delivered using volunteers.
AkshayaShakti has so far reached 140+ centres in India. AkshayaShakti aims to skill 1million women across the country and nurture them to be truly self-reliant. The skills course has been run using the support from CSR, HNIs, individuals and institutions. As the goal is big, more support is solicited from all across different sections. Support for sewing machines, Kits & Fabric, Sponsor a Teacher, Adopt a Centre.
