133rd Club of the premium District 3140, of the Rotary International. It was result of the Membership extension drive to spread the Rotary movement in those geographical communities in District 3140, where there is a potential to reach the community needs by forming a Rotary Club. Under the initiative and leadership of District Governor Lata Subraidu, there was a communication in between some former Rotarians about having a Rotary club in the newly developing community around the Ghodbundar Road in Thane. Living up with the undying principle of “Once a Rotarian, always a Rotarian”, some few Former Rotarians took this call of Service and decided to embark upon this challenge. A name was decided for this proposed club: Rotary club of Thane Newcity. The Rotary Club of Thane Newcity was Chartered on 24th December 2013 as an Official Rotary Club of Rotary International and the133rd club of District 3140.
