Progressive Thane is social interactive platform for Progressive Thane Residents Welfare Association, a NGO formed for the welfare of the residents in and around Vasant Vihar. We started Progressive Thane Residents Welfare Association in 2012 for the residents in this locality, for sorting out civic issues, local transport facilities, and many such day to day needs of the then developing area of P
okhran Road No.2. Slowly and steadily many other Housing Societies and Complexes developed and they all needed some platform to bring up their issues. Progressive Thane Residents Welfare Association happily took the responsibility and with the help of local coroporators and administrative staff of the Thane Municipal Corporation sorted out many of the issues. Progressive Thane Residents Welfare Association is thankful to all the Ministers, MPs’, MLAs’, Local Corporators and Civic Body administrators for being there and providing support through out these years. A number of social and cultural activities are conducted here. Special concept based Musical Events in both Hindi and Marathi languages are arranged for the senior citizens every 4 months since past 14 years, which is also free of cost. Regular medical checkups are also conducted every month in Vasant Vihar club house which is open for all. These checkups are totally free of cost as the health of the residents should be maintained. Different types of medical campaigns such as related to Ayurvedic, Allopathy, Homeopathy are conducted. Regularly tree plantation drive takes place as a service to the environment, for the children and youth - Table tennis district tournament and badminton tournament are held once in a year. All these activities get full fledge response by the public and even the shows are houseful. Cleanliness drive is also an important initiative taken by PTRA over the years.
