A Moment of Appreciation for the initiatives undertaken by RANJIT JHARNA KANSHAI ECO FOUNDATION.

Handmade products crafted by the nimble hands of the adolescent girls narrate the story of the initiatives of RJKEF, the ethos of Purulia to the legendary musician, Susmit Sen.

RJKEF's initiatives include the identification of the remarkable potential and resilience of the girlchild, while acknowledging the immense challenges they face in their realities, challenges that apprehend their dreams.

RJKEF aims to create a global community where every child, irrespective of their social standing, can thrive, learn and lead.

Empowering the girl child is a shared responsibility that can help create a brighter future for all.

Ranjit Jharna Kanshai Eco Foundation is elated to present The Three Seas Ensemble ( a leading Indo Australian Jazz - Folk Fusion Band) in Purulia on January 3, 2025.

Joining the ensemble will be performances by traditional folk artists of Purulia.

Their nimble fingers are now slowly getting adapted to the art of variant stitching patterns.

Thus to further harness their skill we are mentoring them by using the traditional weaves _ "lungi" and "gamcha" to create different utility items.

These products will be available for sale at Bonpulak in their exclusive stall at "Purulia Lit Meet" on 8th of December, 2024 where they will learn to manage their own ventures too..

This Deepawali they stitched their own Frocks :

Through our initiatives, we celebrate the indomitable spirit and resilience of the girl child while acknowledging the significant challenges that disempowered girls face in their day-to-day lives. We are committed to building sustainable communities where every girl can seize her own destiny on her own terms, and no girl is forced to give up on her dreams.

In our flagship initiative, we are working with and supporting adolescent girls in Surulia village, Purulia. UNICEF’s findings shine a spotlight on the alarmingly rampant prevalence of child marriages in the district, which leaves both in-school and out-of-school girls particularly vulnerable in this challenging environment. We are trying to sow the seeds of hope in these girls, and now we aim to empower them and support their journey towards a brighter future, therefore fostering strong individuals who will preserve their culture and identity for future generations while retaining their own agency.

Empowering Girls today for a better tomorrow was UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund)’s mandate on International Day of the Girl Child (2023)

Through our initiatives at Ranjit Jharna Kanshai Eco Foundation (RJKEF) in Purulia we are celebrating the remarkable potential and resilience of girls, while acknowledging the immense challenges they face in their realities, challenges that apprehend their dreams.

It is imperative that we come together as a global community to ensure every girl child can thrive, learn and lead.

Our aim is to encourage girls to pursue diverse interests and careers which will foster an environment where aspirations know no bounds.

As a part of the mission, economic empowerment of the girls are underway through various interventions where they are being taught to make products which are -friendly
These interventions also serve a larger goal _ Prevention of Child Marriage _ as it's a major social issue that eats into the marginalized sections of the society where parents from economically weaker sections marry of the girls before they reach adulthood.

Empowering the girl child is a shared responsibility that can help create a brighter future for all.

Ranjit Jharna Kanshai Eco Foundation (RJKEF) is working to equip youth and children with the skills necessary to shape futures that transcend the status quo and embrace possibilities that will be different from their Present.

According to UNESCO, it is crucial for young people to be able to imagine multiple alternate futures and be open to new possibilities of action in the Present to usher in a sustainable and holistic development.
This ability is termed as Future Literacy.

The day to day interactions with the children (who belong to the marginalized community), targets the promotion of a deeper understanding among young people of the factors such as caste and gender and how everyone needs to come together and create a better and inclusive future!
