“If you have the chance to make someone happy, please do it.
Sometimes people are struggling silently.
Maybe your act of kindness can make their day.”

Living this thought in the simplest and most beautiful way, Lions Club of Mumbai Oyster spent a heart-warming day serving lunch at an old-age home...baba Bhaskar vridhashram trust ,vasai

We carried with us pedas and refreshing chaas, and were touched when the ashram added to the joy by preparing hot, festive pooris.

The meal turned into a wholesome spread of poori–subzi, dal, chawal, peda and chaas—served with love and shared with smiles.

The real reward was watching the residents enjoy every bite… especially the pedas! Many happily asked for second helpings, their faces glowing with childlike joy.
Being Sankashti, those who were fasting could enjoy the pedas even more—making the moment extra special.

What made the day even more meaningful was having the family of one of our Lion member join us, reminding us that service is most beautiful when it becomes a shared family value.

Small acts. Big smiles. Lasting happiness.

On the birth anniversary of Melvin Jones, founder of Lions Clubs International, we came together to celebrate the spirit of service and leadership.

The occasion was marked by an appreciation ceremony honouring our MJF (Melvin Jones Fellow) members for their outstanding commitment to humanitarian service. The honoured members were felicitated by Lion Alka Registrar , DFA MJF,a loyal member of Mumbai oyster.

When Service Becomes a Lesson for Life

At Saraswati madhyamik Vidyalaya, vasai, our Lions carried out a need-based service project by distributing 500 slippers and 500biscuits packs, along with gently introducing the students to the practice of meditation—a small step towards nurturing both comfort and calm.
But this project touched us at a much deeper level.

One of our charter members brought her family along, and with them came a little girl of about ten years. With innocent enthusiasm and a warm smile, she joined us in distributing biscuits and slippers. In that simple act, we witnessed something priceless—values being passed on, not through words, but through action.

Moved by the experience, the child’s mother—also the daughter of our charter member—has lovingly promised a mike system for the school, ensuring that the children’s voices and lessons reach further.

This is how service grows.
This is how compassion is inherited.
This is how sanskar is quietly planted in young hearts.
Moments like these remind us that when families serve together, humanity shines brighter.

Dignity Service Project at GMES High School, Vile Parle East

Lions Club of Mumbai Oyster successfully conducted a Dignity Service Project at GMES High School, Vile Parle East, focusing on awareness, care, and compassion.

As part of this initiative, sanitary pads were distributed to 225 students along with 30 staff members, reinforcing our commitment to menstrual hygiene, health, and dignity for young girls and women.

We are grateful to the school authorities for their cooperation and to all Lions members who contributed their time and effort to make this meaningful service possible.
Together, we continue to serve with empathy, responsibility, and purpose.

It was a moment of pride for Lions Club of Mumbai Oyster to present our Banner Presentation under the inspiring leadership of
RC – Region 5: Lion Vinod Chawla

Staying true to the theme “My Mumbai, My Pride”, Oyster’s Pearls beautifully brought alive the heart and soul of Mumbai by showcasing its most iconic destination — Chowpatty 🌊✨

Set to the evergreen and ever-trending song “Manu Bhai ki Motor Chali”, we recreated the complete Chowpatty picnic experience —

🌽 Bhutta
🍧 Gola
🥜 Sing chane ki pudiya
🎈 Balloons
🚗 And yes, of course, Mumbai ki motor to ride on!

Dressed like a joyful Chowpatty picnic gang, we celebrated the simplicity, vibrancy, and unmatched charm of our Mumbai.

We are honoured that our presentation was appreciated by the judges and awarded the 4th Prize along with gifts 🏆🎁
