The Joy of Giving
When we started Abhays Aur Jeevan Mentoring Forum - AAJ, I realized how we get Joy in Giving.
But today, after working with young kids for more than two years, we realized that it is not only Joy of giving, but something beyond that.
When you give something in terms of help like a notebook, a textbook or any other reading material we feel that our work is done.
But we felt like we should be going beyond that and started offering them personal, educational and personality counselling.
We only really understood the meaning of it all when we saw some students who didn't know subjects like English and Accounts have started encouraging next batch with pride and gratitude to learn the same subjects. The transformation happened by giving self-confidence and making them understand that they can do it.
It was reinforcement of the belief system that they have the power of doing.
If you have any inspirational story to tell our NGO kids which can inspire them to work hard and study better, you are welcome as a guest speaker to raise the level of their power which is already ignited in them.
