To the PMOand Environment Minister of a india
We submit this urgent call to halt the systemic destruction of our forests under the guise of "infrastructure development." Progress measured solely by capital accumulation, while treating our natural heritage as collateral damage, is ecological bankruptcy.
By fragmenting wildlife corridors and clearing biodiversity hotspots, we completely abandon our foundational philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the sacred understanding that the world is one family. True family does not displace its most vulnerable members for profit.
Development without empathy is self-destructive. We strongly urge the government to take the following non-negotiable steps:
Enforce Zero-Compromise Zones: Declare core forests and critical wildlife habitats entirely off-limits to commercial and industrial projects.
Mandate Independent EIAs: Environmental Impact Assessments must be conducted by unbiased, scientific bodies free from corporate influence.
Prioritize Eco-Centric Engineering: Infrastructure must adapt to nature through scientifically sound wildlife overpasses or complete rerouting around sensitive zones, regardless of cost.
Empower Local Guardians: Protect the legal rights of indigenous and forest communities, giving them veto power over local land diversion.
We urge you to realign national policies with the ethos of coexistence. Our forests and wildlife are not economic resources to be liquidated, but the very life-support systems of our nation.Narendra Modi Dr S. Jaishankar Minister for Forest & Endowments, Telangana United Nations Youth
