Project Potential

Project Potential Project Potential envisions a movement of self-empowered community leaders and change-makers toward sustainable rural development. Come and visit!

There are 28 million youth between the ages of 15 and 30 in Bihar. Most of them (90%) live in rural areas, and an increasing number of them are attending school and even university with hopes of a better life. Yet, the link between education and employment is broken in Bihar, where the more educated you are, the more likely you are to be unemployed -- with fully 25% of college graduates currently

without jobs. Our mission is to solve the youth unemployment crisis in rural Bihar by building social and green enterprises that employ trained local youth. We do it through a rigorous identification of high potential sectors, for which rural youth are then selected. After that, they are trained on the job so that eventually they can handle ground level production and operations. Our hope is that by providing such opportunities, the overall ecosystem for youth entrepreneurship and employment will improve in the region. We are doing all of this on a beautiful 15 acre campus, where we are practicing sustainable living via natural building, permaculture, sustainable waste and water management, and so on. You are always invited.

Our Story

Project Potential is leading a movement to nurture community level leaders and changemakers to create sustainable change that lasts. Our core principle is called eArth for the English word ‘earth’ and the Hindi word ‘अर्थ’ for meaning and economy. In other words, it is a philosophy that seeks to regenerate the earth, economy, and our existence.

We actualize this movement through a number of programs focused on different sectors including eArth Kala Manch (art and theater), eArthshala (construction and habitat), eArth Paathshala (education and learning) and eArth Udyog (business incubator).

We are doing all of this on a beautiful 15 acre campus, where we are practicing sustainable living via natural building, permaculture, sustainable waste and water management, and so on. Come and visit! You are always invited.
