Some gestures carry more meaning than words can express.

We are deeply grateful to our DC Sir, Kesang Damo ji, for his continued support and encouragement towards Team Amala and the work we are trying to build for our community.

Thank you Sir, for believing in our vision, standing by us and always being supportive 🙏

It is heartbreaking to see our Jubilee ground like this đź’”

This is the current situation of Jubilee Ground, where we celebrate, we play and gather for events. It is now covered in plastic and waste. Under the sitting corners, behind the auditorium, everywhere.

Public spaces are everyone’s responsibility.

It’s sad to see this, but we can change it. We’re organizing a Cleanliness Drive at Jubilee Ground.

A little journal of our first ever interns’ journey with Team Amala.

From the first task to community conversations, waste audits, shared learning and plenty of laughter, they became more than interns along the way.

Thank you for showing up, learning with us, contributing your ideas and becoming a part of the Team Amala family.

All the best!

A special shoutout to Himalayan Primate Research & Conservation Center for making this possible! 🙌🏻

Today, as members of the Mishmi community, our hearts feel full.

Tamla Du is more than a festival for us.
It is our identity. Our gratitude. Our gathering.

But somewhere between tradition and modern celebration, we began creating something our ancestors never did: WASTE.

This Tamla Du, let us pause and reflect on the old ways —
when we lived in harmony with nature,
created no waste,
and respected every resource as sacred.

Let this celebration not only honor our culture, but also protect the land that holds our stories.
May we celebrate with joy, with awareness,
and with the same wisdom our ancestors quietly lived by.

Because true tradition is not just remembered; it is practiced. 🙏

We walk over this bridge every day, but have we actually looked down lately? It’s easy to think our own little bit of trash won't make a difference, but the stream beneath our feet is telling a different story.

A thousand 'small' choices have turned our local stream into a dumping ground.

The truth hiding right under our bridge. đź’”

Just wrapped up the last day of the 4-day intensive waste segregation at Parshuram Kund Mela 2026. Grateful for the experience, the team, the collaborators and everything we’ve learned along the way. 🙏

For the first time, through collective
effort, waste from the Parshuram Kund
Mela has been diverted from burning,
dumping or littering, and is on its way
to responsible recovery.

Gratitude to team AMYAA (NGO) for walking this journey with us ❤️
