Another Important Step Towards the Empowerment of Rural Women
On 22 June 2026, the inauguration of Samoon Skill Development Center (SSDC-16) was successfully conducted by Samoon Foundation at Patti Hindaw, Chaanji Main Market (Post Office Kholi, Hadiyana Malla), Bhilangana Block, Tehri Garhwal District.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Mrs. Pinki Devi (Member, Area Panchayat, Hadiyana Malla), Mrs. Archana Devi (Pradhan, Chaanji Talli), Mr. Gaurav Singh Rawat (Pradhan, Chaanji Malla), and Program Coordinator Mr. Vikram Ghanata (District Panchayat Member), along with several distinguished citizens, local residents, and youth from the region. Mr. Vikram Shah, representative of Samoon Foundation, was also present on the occasion.
This new training center will provide stitching and skill development training to women and young girls from the nearby Gram Panchayats of Chaanji Talli, Chaanji Malla, Ganwadi, Kathud, Hadiyana Talla, Bhona, and other neighboring villages. The initiative aims to empower women through self-reliance, create local employment opportunities, and strengthen the economic condition of rural families.
During the program, local residents appreciated the efforts of Samoon Foundation and stated that such skill development centers open new avenues of opportunity for women and youth in the remote regions of the mountains. The community described this initiative as an important step toward the social and economic development of the area.
This is the 16th Samoon Skill Development Center (SSDC-16) established by Samoon Foundation. Like the previous 15 SSDC centers, this center will serve as a platform for connecting rural women with skills, confidence, and self-reliance.
