In the field of education and economic growth, the area is extremely backward and the effort being put in by the Government is not sufficient. The schools that run at the village level are hardly functioning and this has eroded all the confidence of the people in education system. So, they don’t feel that their children will become educated by studying in these schools. There are a number of famil
ies from where no children are studying and this is because the people still do not know the value and importance of education. There is hardly any effort made to bring and create awareness about education in the area. This calls for a need and action from the NGOs side to give alternate avenues for imparting education in the area, so, that the people do not become the victims of their ignorance and the indifference of educated people who should own the responsibility of filling up the gap. It is with this background that Youth action for social welfare, a voluntary organization is proposing to take up. Dakpaneng and Pangchen area for social work in the field of Education, Health and Culture. In all these scheme of things, special focus would be on the girl education and adult education. The main aim of the proposed school is to run it as the nodal multipurpose center point under the Buddha Education and Culture Foundation Institution (BECFI), for coordinating with all the village schools with special focus for the girls. The region is economically backward and lacks the basic education and health requirements as there are no teachers in the schools and doctors in the hospitals, which are very poorly managed, result is that the people have lost faith on the system. A lot needs to be done in the field of education, health and hygiene, which BECFI is envisaging to fulfill. Education is the backbone of development. There is strong need to conduct awareness camps for the need to provide education to the children and teach them about health and hygiene. For that, good schools and hospitals are to be established. This is an effort to spread the awareness in the entire area as a consolidated mission for imparting basic health and education to all the children in the area.
