The Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with the Sikkim Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (SEED) Cell, is set to organise a Trade Fair for local entrepreneurs of Mangan District from 17th to 19th April 2026.

In the lead-up to the event, the President of the SEED Cell, Dr. Raj Lama, along with his team, met with Minister Shri Arun Upreti to discuss key strategies and initiatives aimed at boosting entrepreneurship in the state. The meeting focused on strengthening support systems for local entrepreneurs and enhancing opportunities for growth and market access.

During the interaction, Minister Arun Upreti shared his views and encouraged the public to actively participate in the upcoming trade fair at Mangan.

This is to inform all concerned that a two-week GST Sahayak Training Programme is being jointly organized by the Commercial Taxes Division, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with Sikkim Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (SEED) Cell.

The programme is being conducted under the patronage of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang.

Details of the Training Programme:
Programme Name: GST Sahayak Training
Duration: Two weeks
Commencement Date: Saturday, 9th May 2026
Venue: CTD Head Office, Deorali, Gangtok

Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum qualification: Class 10 pass and above
Applicant must possess Aadhaar Card and Voter ID Card
Document Submission Details:
Last Date: On or before 5th May 2026
Submission Venue: SEED Cell or Commercial Taxes Department, Deorali

Under the direction of Hon’ble Chief Minister and Chief Patron Seed Cell Shri. Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), The Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with the Sikkim Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (SEED) Cell, is organising a Trade Fair for local entrepreneurs of Mangan District from 17th to 19th April 2026.

In preparation for the upcoming event, a venue site visit was conducted at Mangan on 1st April 2026. Shri Dipen S***a, OSD, Commerce & Industries Department and General Secretary, SEED Cell, along with the team, visited the proposed venue and held discussions with concerned officials regarding the necessary arrangements and planning for the successful organisation of the trade fair.

During the visit, the team also met Shri Anant Jain, District Collector of Mangan, and Shri Karzong Bhutia, Municipal Executive Officer, to review the venue and deliberate on logistical and administrative preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the trade fair, which aims to provide a platform for local entrepreneurs and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship in the district.

An Awareness Programme on State & Central Government MSME Schemes was conducted at Ben Namprik GPK Hall, organised by DIC Namchi and SEED Cell.
The programme began with the welcome of the Chief Guest, Shri N. T. Bhutia, Chairman, Science & Technology, by Shri Abinash Poudyal, who also delivered the welcome address.
The keynote address was delivered by Shri Dipen S***a OSD Commerce & Industries highlighting the importance of MSME schemes. Shri Ajay Tamang, Inspector, DIC Namchi, explained the role of DIC, along with presentations on Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme and UNNATI Scheme.
The Chief Guest emphasized innovation and entrepreneurship, and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Panchayat President.

The Sikkim Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (SEED) Cell orchestrated a prestigious one-day awareness programme on diverse State and Central Government MSME Schemes, held on March 17, 2026, at Sanchaman Limboo Government College. The event was honoured by the presence of Shri Tshering Thendup Bhutia, Hon'ble Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation, Commerce & Industries, and Food Processing Industries.

This landmark initiative aimed to promote entrepreneurship, augment awareness, and facilitate access to various government schemes among students and aspiring entrepreneurs. The programme also witnessed the inauguration of the inaugural RISE (Realising Ideas & Shaping Entrepreneurship) initiative, designed to nurture innovative ideas and transform them into viable ventures through structured mentorship and institutional support.

The Idea Pitching programme, conducted by Shri Bikash Basnet(Joint Secretary SEED Cell), was judged by an esteemed panel comprising Hon'ble Minister Shri Tshering Thendup Bhutia, Shri Raj Lama, President, SEED Cell; Shri Dipen S***a, OSD, Commerce & Industries Department cm SEED Cell Secretary; Shri Narayan Khatiwara, Chairman, RDD; and Shri Sushil Tamang.

Gyalshing: An awareness programme on State and Central Government MSME Schemes under the Raising & Accelerating MSMEs Performance (RAMP) Programme was held at Gyalshing, today. The programme was organised by the Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim in collaboration with the Sikkim Entrepreneurship & Economic Development Cell (SEED Cell).
The programme was graced by OSD to Geyzing Bermoik Constituency, Shri.
