Founded in 2016, E-commerce Association of Surat (ECA-Surat) is an association of companies and experts operating in e-commerce business in the Surat region. E-Commerce Association of Surat (ECA-Surat) is devoted specifically to the development of the Surat- E-Commerce sector. E-Commerce has been in India since the late 90s. Initially, it observed slow growth but in the last five years there has b
een major rise in the popularity of eCommerce. It would become a billion dollar industry in the next five years creating jobs for thousands of people. The e-Commerce Association of Surat (ECA-Surat) has been created to improve the e-Commerce sector of the region. There are currently around 97 websites and 93Facebook companies operating in Surat. The members of ECA-Surat cover majority of Surat e-commerce turnover. The main objectives are to continuously develop Surat e-commerce and to support members in professional education, legislation issues and communication with the Surat administration. E-Commerce is not an isolated sector but related to banking, mobile network, courier etc. In order to ensure the growth of the e-Commerce sector, ECA-Surat will focus on- online shop and e-Service, e-Payment and transaction, e-Security, e-Commerce policy and guidelines, service delivery, e-Commerce awareness and training, Product quality improvement, and research. However, there are many problems that need to be addressed for eCommerce to reach its full potential.
