આજે લોખંડી પુરૂષ સરદાર વલ્લભભાઇ પટેલનો ૬૫મો નિર્વાણ દિવસ છે, ભારત દેશના નાના મોટા 565 રાજા રજવાડાઓનું એકત્રીકરણ કરીને ભારત દેશને ૩૨ લાખ એકર જમીન અપાવી હતી. સરદાર પટેલે ઉચ્ચ શિક્ષા પ્રાપ્ત કરી હતી પરંતુ એમનામાં ક્ષણભર પણ અહંકાર નહતો, એ કહેતા હતા કે " હું એ વિજ્ઞાન અને કલાના વિશાળ ગગનમાં ઉચી ઉડાન નથી ભરી, મારો વિકાસ કાચી ઝુંપડીઓમાં અને ગરીબ ખેડૂતોના ખેતરો ની ભૂમિ અને શહેરોના ગંદા મકાનોમાં થયો છે." ભારતના ખેડૂતોની આત્મા, દેશના પ્રથમ ગૃહમંત્રી અને અખંડ ભારતના જુદા-જુદા રજવાડાઓને એકત્ર કરીને દેશની રચના કરનાર સરદાર વલ્લભભાઈ પટેલને તેમની પુણ્યતિથી પર સાદર નમન.
