Across five institutions—GM University, NSCB College, NAC Burla, SDS Government High School (Sambalpur), and Panchayat Degree College (Bargarh)—Patang’s Samatalaya youth leaders facilitated a meaningful letter-writing session with over 70 students. This initiative provided a valuable opportunity for young individuals to pause, reflect, and re-establish connections with themselves and their cherished ones, transcending the distractions of the contemporary world. From composing letters to parents and friends, to partners and even former companions, each message conveyed sentiments that are often left unexpressed, while simultaneously serving as a gentle reminder of an era when relationships flourished independently of social media.

Two days of dialogue, reflection, and collective learning. 📚✨

The National Seminar & Children’s Literature Festival on “Reimagining Teacher Education in India”—in its second year of collaboration—brought together 250+ pre-service teachers, 30+ in-service teachers, and education practitioners, creating a space to engage with critical questions in education.

From conversations on Multilingual Education to Children’s Literature & Deep Reading, and a workshop on Equity in Indian Classrooms, participants explored how education can be more inclusive, meaningful, and rooted in real classroom contexts.

Alongside, the Children’s Literature Festival saw 400+ children engaging with diverse books and stories, making it a vibrant space for young readers, parents, and communities.

Grateful for the ideas, energy, and participation that made this gathering truly meaningful.

Stories in many languages. Worlds in many pages.

At the Tuan Tuin Book Fair, step into a vibrant book exhibition featuring stories in Sambalpuri, Odia, Hindia and other Indian languages. From playful picture books to thoughtful tales, discover literature that sparks imagination, builds curiosity, and connects children to their cultures and communities.

And it’s not just about reading!
Children can dive into storytelling sessions, writing workshops, clay toy making, leaf painting, paper crafts, math and language games, book games, and traditional riddles and proverbs — turning stories into hands-on experiences.

Because when children find stories in their own languages, reading becomes joy, confidence, and discovery.

Come explore. Come read. Come imagine.

Patang successfully conducted the Panel Discussion and Pitching Session for the Children Wallet Programme 2025–26. A total of 41 children from four villages—Runipali, Saradhapali, Nalichuan, and Lehunipadar—participated in the session. The children confidently presented key issues from their respective villages before the panel, seeking support and collaboration for meaningful change.

The esteemed panel included Mr. Tarun from the DSWO Office, a representative from Bheden Block (PEO), one SMC member, one parent, and Mr. Rishabh, Mr. Jasobanta, and Mr. Sibaji. Additionally, five team members and four volunteers were present throughout the session.

It was truly a wonderful and inspiring day. The children not only shared their concerns with confidence but also thoughtfully connected them to broader community issues. They proposed practical solutions and strongly advocated for the utilization of Children Wallet funds for the greater public good.

Some of the key issues highlighted during the discussion included:

1. Lack of library facilities
2. Cleanliness and sanitation concerns
3. Limited sports infrastructure
4. Environmental issues
5. Health concerns of children
6. The use of alcohol in the villages

The session clearly reflected the children’s strong sense of ownership, awareness, leadership, and collective responsibility toward improving their communities.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Sibaji for joining us and sharing valuable suggestions. Special thanks to Ms. Nani for her continuous guidance and support, and for making this enriching experience possible. We also sincerely thank Mr. Jasobanta, Ms. Dikhya, and Mr. Rishabh for their consistent support.

Our deep appreciation goes to all the volunteers for their unwavering support, and to the entire team for making this session a success.

Thank you once again, everyone.

We were delighted to host the team from Chale Chalo Organization for a two-day exposure visit to our Early Childhood Education Learning Centre and School Learning Centre. The visit created a valuable space for shared learning, observation, and meaningful dialogue on strengthening foundational education for children.

On the first day, the team observed classroom teaching-learning processes, explored a variety of Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs), and interacted with teachers and facilitators to see the pedagogy in action.

The second day focused on in-depth discussions about our work and approach, where we shared best practices, documentation processes, and key challenges. These conversations enabled rich cross-learning and the exchange of ideas that can further enhance our collective efforts in education.

Before concluding the visit, participants shared their reflections and exchanged Thank You cards—marking the experience with appreciation, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to continue this journey of collaboration and learning from one another.

On January 21, 2026, as part of the Patang – The Squirrel Program, sixteen enthusiastic young volunteers performed street theatre in Kusamura and Sitlenpali villages, Jujomura Block, Sambalpur. Their performances aimed to initiate discussions on human-elephant conflict and child rights.

Utilizing theatre as a means and the volunteers as agents of change, they endeavored to connect communities with wildlife. Through an engaging and culturally relevant performance, the volunteers successfully engaged, informed, and motivated approximately 600 community members, particularly families residing in forested areas, regarding peaceful coexistence with wildlife and the significance of education for everyone.

This impactful endeavor was made possible through the valuable partnership with the District Forest Department, thereby reinforcing collective efforts in raising awareness and promoting action.

Together, we are striving to cultivate a harmonious future where individuals, wildlife, and education can flourish alongside one another.

Further initiatives of this nature are anticipated soon across selected areas within Jujumora.
