Inspuring the young....
We at SEED did our best to cover few wetland stories of Manasbal Belt ,
We covered almost 8 wetlannd during -2026 organised by department of wildlife wetland division kashmir.
AWC-2026 is a great event to explore the wetlands of j&k and estimate the migratory birds in them and be part of this citizen science project...
Young generation should be involved in order to imbibe them the beauty of birding and and exploring biodiversity.

Today 2nd February 2026,we join the global community in celebrating world wetlands day.The SEED and social concern group come together commemorate this important occasion dedicated to the conservation and sustainable use of our vital wetland ecosystems.
SEED believes that small actions,like seeds,can grow into powerful movements for environmental and social change.Our group works with communities to promote ecological balance, sustainability,and ethical responsibility towards nature.
The programe aims to:
1.Create awareness about the importance of wetlands.
2.Highlight local wetlands and there challenges.
3.Encourage community participation in conservation.
4.promote the idea that protection wetlands is protecting life.

Objectives:
1) To educate peoples about the ecological, economic and cultural values of wetlands.
2) To discuss threats faced by wetlands such as pollution.
3) To motivate collective action at local level for wetland protection.

(Significance of wetlands)
1.Act as flood buffers and reduce disaster risk
2.Support migratory birds and aquatic life.
3.Help in climate regulation and corban storage.
4.Provide livelihood through fisheries, agriculture and tourism.

(Expected outcoms)
1) Increased public awareness and sensitivity.
2) Strengthened community responsibility towards wetlands.
3) Youth engagement in environment protection.
4) A step towards sustainable and ethical environmental governance.

Protecting wetlands is not only an environmental duty but a moral responsibility .When we save wetlands,we save water, wildlife, livelihood and the future.

Virtual Engagement on Eve of World Volunteer day.
Today thought provoking session had been conducted with the volunteers activists and educators and indeed members from share their experiences and viewpoints regarding Volunteerism and their role in society for environmental conservation and Education.

"The Great Backyard Bird Count is starting today. We urge all the people of Kashmir, regardless of their profession or background, to take just a few minutes to participate in this important event.

How to Participate:

1. Choose a Spot – It could be your backyard, a park, or any outdoor space.

2. Observe Birds – Spend at least 15 minutes watching and noting the birds you see.

3. Record Your Sightings – Take pictures or jot down the species you identify.

4. Submit Your Data – Upload your observations to eBird.

5. Using Merlin bird app to record bird sound.

6. If you are new sketch or record birds structure colour, size , habitat and share with us we can help you in identification with our experts.
