We focus to campaign for a purpose to attract world wide aiding and relief agencies and organisations so that it can help
to build a new Kashmir. As per initial assessment of Oxfam more than 2,500 villages affected, out of which 450 villages are completely submerged. More than 300 villages are completely cut off. Reports indicate that South Kashmir districts are the worst affected with over 30% of Srinagar inundated due to the breach in the embankment of River Jhelum in several places. All flooded water has brought a huge destruction to Srinagar city where bunds on the bank of the river Jhelum got breached and flooded many parts of city over 3 to 4 stories houses. Thousands of people were stranded on roof tops of the well built houses and buildings. Around 500 people are believed dead and still unknown number of people are missing. Valunteer teams from safer places have saved stranded persons. Kashmir.Foundation will focus to develop a network of Kashmir based NGOs with the global aiding agencies. Identify the well performed NGOs on ground and promote them to take control of relief and development work in Kashmir.
