A Step Towards Health Care : Mega Medical Camp Serves Baramulla Community
On Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, the peaceful village of Takiya Khaitaagan in Baramulla witnessed a meaningful step toward health equity as Paras Health, in collaboration with Sahuliyat Kashmir Voluntary Trust, organized a Mega Medical Camp dedicated to the well-being of the local community.
Held from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM, the camp drew an encouraging turnout of 80–100 patients. People from nearby areas gathered to avail themselves of free consultations, diagnostic tests, and essential medical advice. The event was graced by renowned specialists including Dr. Adnan Raina (Neurologist) and Dr. Waseem Yousuf (Pediatrician & Neonatologist), alongside a General Physician. The day began with vital viral screenings and moved on to individualized consultations and diagnostic services tailored to patient needs. For those requiring further investigation, blood tests and other essential diagnostics were offered—at a 50% concession made possible by Paras Hospital.
Beyond delivering immediate care, the event marked the beginning of a promising year-long partnership between Sahuliyat Kashmir and Paras Health. The two organizations plan to replicate such camps across all districts of the Kashmir Valley, aiming to make healthcare accessible to marginalized communities throughout the region. This long-term collaboration reflects a shared vision: bridging the healthcare gap and empowering rural populations with consistent, quality medical support.
A key component of the camp’s success was the tireless work of volunteers from Sahuliyat Kashmir. From patient registration to managing queues and offering support to the elderly and differently-abled, their presence ensured smooth operations and created an atmosphere of compassion and trust. Their commitment to community service reinforced the broader mission of the organization—bringing hope and healing to those often overlooked.
This initiative stands as a powerful example of what can be achieved when medical expertise joins hands with grassroots dedication. It embodies the true spirit of health equity—where care reaches those who need it the most, not just as
