BATAMALOO TRADERS ASSOCIATION

04/04/2026
Batamaloo
A significant Core Body meeting of the Batamaloo Traders Association was convened today under the leadership of the Senior Vice President, Mr. Wasim Afroz Khan, to deliberate upon important matters concerning the upcoming Urs-e-Mubarak of the revered saint Sheikh Dawood Sahib (Batmaloo Saeb) (R.A.).
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the arrangements required for the smooth observance of the Urs, which attracts a large number of devotees and visitors from across Kashmir. The Core Body collectively resolved to urge the administration of Jammu & Kashmir to ensure proper civic and public service arrangements in Batamaloo during the auspicious days.
The meeting specifically appealed to the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, and Power Development Department (PDD) to make special and comprehensive arrangements. Emphasis was laid on maintaining high standards of sanitation, uninterrupted water supply, stable electricity, and overall cleanliness in the Batamaloo vicinity so that devotees and residents do not face any inconvenience during the sacred occasion.
The members also highlighted that Batamaloo has already been facing several civic challenges following the relocation of the bus stand. Therefore, the administration was requested to take this opportunity to address pending issues and provide relief to traders, residents, and visiting devotees during the Urs period.
The meeting was attended by General Secretary Mehraj-ud-Din Ganaie, Chief Organiser Mastat Amin Bhat, Secretary Administration & Records Wasim Elahi Paul, Chief of Publicity and senior trader & Executive Member of KTMF (Yasin Group) Shabir Ahmad Mattoo, along with senior trader Warsi Imtiyaz.
The association expressed hope that the concerned departments will respond positively and ensure that the Urs-e-Mubarak is observed with dignity, proper facilities, and spiritual harmony for all devotees.
