Statement | Human Rights and Education Empowerment Trust
At least 36 people have been killed and nearly 170 injured in a horrific su***de attack at Khadija Tul Kubra Mosque, Islamabad. Reports state that the attacker, Yasir Khan, a resident of Peshawar allegedly trained in Afghanistan, is being investigated for possible links with ISKP and wider terror networks.
This brutal attack inside a place of worship once again exposes the deep crisis of security, governance, and humanity. When innocent civilians are slaughtered during prayers, the question is unavoidable:
Which humanity is this?
A state that repeatedly fails to protect its own citizens and allows extremist networks to grow cannot escape responsibility. Violence, extremism, and suppression have become a tragic routine, with ordinary people paying the price.
From the platform of Human Rights and Education Empowerment Trust, we strongly condemn terrorism in all its forms and stand with the innocent victims and their families. Human rights are universal, and no nation can claim legitimacy while its people live under constant fear.
Peace cannot be built on terror.
Faith cannot be defended by violence.
Humanity must come first.
