Bus Service Restored on Kulgam–Kutamarg Route; Relief for Commuters and Students
Kulgam, April 2026:
In a significant development for local commuters, the KMD Kulgam has officially resumed bus services on the Kulgam–Kutamarg route starting today, restoring a vital transportation link for the region.
The issue had been brought to the attention of authorities by members of the public at DK Marg. Responding swiftly, police officials coordinated with KMD, leading to the prompt reinstatement of the service. The move has provided much-needed relief to daily passengers who rely on this route.
In addition, concerns raised by media regarding students facing financial difficulties in affording bus fares have also been addressed. KMD Association President Yasir Ahmad announced a supportive initiative under which identity cards will be issued to 13 deserving students, enabling them to travel free of cost.
The development took place in the presence of Tribal Student Association Kulgam President Choudhary Ashiq and X Social Media Incharge Tahir Nazir, highlighting the collective efforts of community representatives and stakeholders.
The initiative has been widely welcomed by local residents, who have praised it as a thoughtful step toward assisting underprivileged students.
With the restoration of bus services, transportation challenges in the area are expected to ease, ensuring improved connectivity and convenience for the public.
