Beopar Mandal Mahraj Gunj. expresses profound grief and sorrow on the sad demise of Shri Roshan Lal Tickoo (Budshah) of M/S Tara Chand Tickoo & Sons, renowned Green Tea Merchants of Maharaj Gunj, Srinagar.
Late Roshan Lal Tickoo was a respected businessman and a noble soul who was known for his humility, integrity and warm relations with the trading community of Maharaj Gunj. His contribution towards the business fraternity and his lifelong association with the historic marketplace shall always be remembered with great respect and affection.
On this sorrowful occasion, Beopar Mandal Maharaj Gunj extends heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved Tickoo family, relatives and associates. We pray for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.

Once standing at the heart of Maharaj Gunj, this historic Fire Station was more than just a building. It was a symbol of safety and reassurance for the people of Downtown Srinagar. Due to the dilapidated condition of the structure, the fire station was later shifted to Syed Hamidpora, leaving the entire old city without an immediate fire response facility.
After persistent efforts and continuous struggle by Beopar Mandal Maharaj Gunj, the land at Maharaj Gunj was finally allocated for reconstruction of the Fire Station. However, despite the passage of time, no visible progress has been made on the project.
Downtown Srinagar remains one of the most densely populated areas, with centuries-old wooden houses, congested lanes, and highly vulnerable infrastructure where even a minor fire incident can result in massive loss of life and property. The need for a fully functional Fire Station in Maharaj Gunj is not a demand of convenience, but a necessity for public safety.
We sincerely urge the concerned authorities to immediately initiate the construction process of the new Fire Station at Maharaj Gunj and fulfill this long pending and vital requirement of the people of Shahre-Khaas.

Their martyrdom remains a painful chapter in the history of Kashmir and their sacrifices continue to inspire generations with courage, faith, and resilience. We pray that Almighty Allah grants the martyrs the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and blesses their families with patience and strength.
May their legacy of unity, compassion, and service to humanity always remain alive in our hearts and minds.
