Dr. Syed Abid Mahmood, OSD Zakat Foundation of India, visited Mercy Home (Medical Facility) at Zalpora, Sonawari in Bandipora. The facility is jointly run by Zakat Foundation of India and Ehsaas International.
During his visit, he interacted with Doctor, patients and local volunteers and listened carefully to their concerns. The local community raised a demand for the deployment of a dedicated nurse at the health centre. Responding positively, Dr. Syed Abid Mahmood assured full support and cooperation in addressing this need.
The people expressed deep gratitude for the consistent healthcare support being provided over the past seven years. It is pertinent to mention that Mercy Home Zalpora was established in 2019 through the joint efforts of Zakat Foundation of India and Ehsaas International. Located in a neglected and underserved area, the facility has emerged as a vital lifeline, especially in the absence of nearby hospitals and pharmacies, ensuring accessible medical care for the local population.

The Higher Education Sponsorship Counselling Program (HESP), jointly implemented by EHSAAS International and CHINAR International, aims to bridge critical gaps in access to higher education by providing structured counselling, scholarship facilitation, and financial support.

Despite possessing strong academic potential, many students are forced to discontinue their education after Class 12 due to financial constraints, lack of proper guidance, limited awareness of scholarship opportunities, and the absence of organised counselling mechanisms. While several social, charitable, and community-based organisations are actively working across Kashmir, most are not directly involved in sponsoring higher education. As a result, many deserving students within their respective jurisdictions remain unidentified, unsupported, and eventually drop out of the education system.

Consequently, seats allocated to us under various scholarship programs by colleges and universities often remain unfilled due to the non-identification of eligible and deserving candidates. This leads to a significant loss of opportunity.

HESP serves as a structured platform to identify, counsel, and support such students, ensuring that financial limitations and lack of guidance do not become barriers to higher education. By connecting deserving students with appropriate scholarships and support systems, the program seeks to improve enrolment, reduce dropouts, and promote equitable access to higher education in the region

Ehsaas International & CHINAR International Empower 449 Students in 2025 Through Educational Rehabilitation & Scholarship Initiative

Under the Educational Rehabilitation & Scholarship Initiative, Ehsaas International in collaboration with Chinar International has successfully supported 449 students across Kashmir in pursuing their academic aspirations.

*RAMBAN FLASH FLOODS RELIEF*

As an immediate measure, Ehsaas International is starting *Community Kitchen* in Ramban for affected families whose houses have been washed out and for stranded passengers.

Tentative costing for a community kitchen per day has been worked out to be approximately Rs. 25,000/-

We have arranged for today's expenses and the kitchen will start to serve from today. We are looking forward to donations from all of you good Samaritans to keep the kitchen going for next few days until things are stabilised there.

Ehsaas International Distributes Eid Clothes to 2000 Underprivileged Children in Kashmir

In a heartfelt initiative ahead of Eid, Ehsaas International has launched a large-scale drive to provide new clothes to underprivileged children across five districts of Kashmir. The initiative, supported by IMRC (Indian Muslim Relief and Charities) and FASHION FEISTA aims to bring joy to around 2000 children from financially weaker sections who are unable to afford new clothes for the festival.

As part of this campaign, an event was organized today in Zalpora village of Bandipora, where hundreds of children received new Eid clothes. Similar distribution drives are being held simultaneously in other districts of the Valley, ensuring that the joy of Eid reaches as many children as possible.

Speaking at the event, Syed Tabbasum Geelani, Chairman of Ehsaas International, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in uplifting underprivileged communities. “Eid is a festival of happiness and togetherness, and no child should feel left out due to financial constraints. Our goal is to spread smiles and make a difference in the lives of these children,” he said.

Local residents, social activists, and community members lauded the efforts of Ehsaas International, acknowledging their commitment to social welfare. Many beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, saying that the initiative not only provided material support but also brought a sense of inclusion and dignity to children from struggling families.

The distribution drive continues across Kashmir, ensuring that thousands of children can celebrate Eid with new clothes and renewed happiness.
