Dr. Farzana Mehdi, Pro-Chancellor, Era University, Lucknow, and DIG Imtiyaz Hussain Mir Inaugurate Kashmir Eye Care Clinic Established by Ehsaas International Beneficiary
Budgam, June 13: In a significant milestone showcasing the transformative impact of education and entrepreneurship, Prof. Dr. Farzana Mehdi, Pro-Chancellor, Era University, Lucknow, and DIG Imtiyaz Hussain Mir inaugurated Kashmir Eye Care Clinic established by Mr. Syed Ruhulla, a beneficiary of Ehsaas Trust International.
Syed Ruhulla successfully completed his professional degree in Optematry from Era University, Lucknow, with the support of Ehsaas International and has now embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by launching his own eye care facility dedicated to providing quality vision care services to the community.
Dr. Farzana Mehdi, Pro-Chancellor, Era University, Lucknow, congratulated the young entrepreneur on his achievement. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized the importance of technical and professional education and encouraged students to opt for skill-based and career-oriented courses that can lead to sustainable livelihoods and self-employment opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, DIG J&K Police, a noted reformer highlighted the changing employment landscape and stressed that government jobs alone cannot accommodate the aspirations of all educated youth. He urged students to pursue skill-based and technical courses to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial potential. He also informed the audience about various government initiatives, particularly under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), through which aspiring entrepreneurs can access financial assistance and support to establish their own ventures.
Hakim Mohammad Ilyas, General Secretary, Ehsaas International, reiterated that the organization's core philosophy is "Education to Entrepreneurship." He informed the gathering that Ehsaas International has facilitated admissions on scholarship basis for more than 2,000 students in various technical and professional courses across the country.
"Our mission is not only to educate students but also to make them self-reliant and economically empowered," he said. He highlighted several successful entrepreneurial ventures established by beneficiaries of the organization, including eye care facilities, catering services, bakeries, boutiques, and other enterprises. He further revealed that Ehsaas International has also supported the establishment of a dental clinic in Sonawari by another beneficiary who completed professional studies through the organization's educational support.
Addressing students and community members present on the occasion, Mr.Ilyas encouraged youth to pursue short-term technical and crash courses that can lead to gainful employment and entrepreneurship. He emphasized that promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship is one of the most effective ways to address unemployment challenges.
