Today a historic moment was celebrated at the banks of Dal Lake, Ghat No. 16. The Nature University, founded by Nadeem Qadri - Environmental Lawyer, launched The Nature Shikara, in presence of esteemed guests and dignitaries.
Inaugurated by the worthy former APCCF, Syed Farooq Ahmad Gillani, Advisor, The Nature University. Mr. S.D. Choudhary, SSP Enforcement, Tourist Police and Convenor, Private Schools' Association, Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Farooq Ashai, Advisor, The Nature University.
The inaugural launch was witnessed by the members from Jammu & Kashmir Eco-Watch, particularly Executive Director, Nadeem Ahmad Dar, and Project Director, Save Dal Lake Campaign, Hamreen Khan.
It is pertinent to mention and acknowledge the gracious presence of Members of Wildlife Conservation Fund, YPJK and other team members viz Tariq Ahmad Patloo, Faizan Mehraj, Abid Ali, Syed Farhat, Nisar Ahmad, Seerat Ul Nisar, Sheezan Bhat, and Sadiya.
"This is a dream come true" said the captain of the shikara, Javeed Ahmad Sofi aka , who is a local stakeholder and Dal Dweller.
This launch is a unique benchmark considering its operations based on the nature, sustainability, conservation and preservation.
“This initiative should be appreciated and supported by everyone particularly tourists who visit dal lake”, said one of the guests.
Dal Lake which is considered as one of the most iconic tourist attraction spot in Kashmir, known for its breathtaking beauty attracts tourists across the world.
The launch of The Nature Shikara is dedicated to environmental awareness and education of ecology.
It sets an example for similar initiatives for protecting and restoring the Dal Lake. With this initiative a new chapter begins.
This initiative is appreciated and acknowledged by India’s premiere organization Sanctuary Asia, Sanctuary Nature Foundation who on this special occasion donated the Santuary Asia magazines.
