Today, on 07/04/2026 a special meeting of the Urban Travel Agents Association under the chairmanship of worthy president Mr jan Mukhtyar sahib was held at Hotel Asian Park Munawarabad. Members associated with the association and travel trade participated in the session In today’s meeting special discussions were held regarding tourism related issues at the global international and domestic levels particularly the ongoing Iran American war which has created many difficulties across the region especially in Gulf countries. Its impact has also been felt in India, and more specifically on the tourism sector in Kashmir. We pray that this war ends as soon as possible and peace is restored At the same time with the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, we pray that it is conducted smoothly and successfully. The Urban Travel Agents Association has always played an active and prominent role in ensuring that pilgrims visiting for the Yatra are provided with proper facilities and comfort so they can perform their religious duties with ease Lastly an important point discussed in the meeting was the Kashmir Travel Mart starting on 14th and 15th April at the SkiCC. The urban travel agents association is extending full support to this initiative, which is a positive step and is expected to have a strong impact on the trade.We hope that in the coming time, tourist footfall in Kashmir will increase rapidly. Tourism is not just a single sector it is connected with many livelihoods including handicrafts Transport and horticulture. If this year’s tourism season proceeds successfully, we hope that visitors to Kashmir will return with happy and memorable experiences.
An important point was also raised that people associated with trade especially youth have been badly hit for the last two years and it's as such requested to Present Government UT of JK Chief Minister Umar Abdullah sb and especially His excellency Hon'ble Governor of UT Jammu and Kashmir to pay special attention for their welfare since every travel agent is indebted to Bank and it's hard to make two ends meet..

On Tuesday, 24 March 2026, an inaugural session of a one-day national conference was held at the University of Kashmir under the theme “Beyond Sustainability: Advancing Regenerative Models in Tourism Development.” The Urban Travel Agents Association was also invited to the event.
Our President, Mr. Jan Mukhtar, attended the session and shared his views. He presented, in detail, various tourism-related matters based on his experience before the audience.This event also highlights the significant contributions of the Urban Travel Agents Association in the tourism sector. Both collectively and individually, the Association has been rendering valuable services to this sector and will continue to do so in the future.
Despite years of unfavorable conditions, the Association has shown remarkable dedication and commitment to the tourism sector. For this, the Department of Tourism and various agencies associated with the sector have always appreciated their efforts

Special General Meeting

A special general meeting of UTAA was held today at Mid Town Hotel, Barzulla Bhagat, Srinagar, under the chairmanship of Jan Sahib, our esteemed President.

Members held a detailed discussion on the current tourism scenario in Kashmir and the sudden slowdown in tourism-related activities. It was unanimously decided that focused and innovative marketing efforts are the need of the hour for the revival of the tourism trade in the Valley.
