JKBC Extends Condolences on the Demise of Ghulam Rasool Mantoo

Srinagar | October 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Business Confederation (JKBC) has expressed profound grief over the demise of Ghulam Rasool Mantoo, a respected businessman of Rajbagh and owner of Mantoo Cement Store.

In a condolence meeting held today, JKBC President Mohammad Altaf Dar, Chief Advisor Sheikh Hilal Ahmed, Sr. Vice President S.A. Rashid, Vice Presidents Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani and Mohammad Ramzan Dar, Secretary Mohammad Shafi Wani, Joint Secretary Deepak Maniswalia, and members Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh, Nazir Ahmed Dar, Riyaz Ahmed Bhat, Muzzaffar-uz-Zaman, Younis Nazir, Khalid Jehangir,Shabir Ahmad Batoo,Gulzar Ahmed,Ayjaz Naqash and Ghulam Mohammad Bhat extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family—especially to his sons Gowhar Rasool Mantoo,Mujeeb Rasool Mantoo, and brothers Nissar Ahmed Mantoo and Irshad Ahmed Mantoo.

The members prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
Management JKBC said,

> “In times of sorrow, no family should feel alone. Our shared support and compassion are a source of strength and hope.”

Fateh Khawani will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at their ancestral graveyard, Malkhah, Srinagar.

The JKBC fraternity stands in solidarity with the Mantoo family in this hour of grief.

JKBC Condemns Insensitive Remarks, Highlights Ongoing Struggles of Kashmir's Business Community

Srinagar | July 24, 2025: President of the Jammu and Kashmir Business Confederation (JKBC), Mohammad Altaf Dar, has strongly condemned the insensitive remarks made by certain leaders, who suggested that traders should sell their houses to cope with financial distress.

In a firm statement,M Altafdar Rajbagh said:

“I fail to understand — if someone has turned into an NPA or is facing financial distress, it is largely due to the turmoil in Kashmir, repeated hartals, prolonged lockdowns, and the devastating impact of the COVID crisis.”

He further stated that such remarks are deeply irresponsible and reflect a lack of understanding and compassion for the challenges faced by the business community.

“Shame on those who make such careless suggestions. Leaders must remember the real causes of these financial struggles and behave like true trade representatives,” Dar asserted.

Mohammad Altaf Dar emphasized that this is not the time for criticism or blame, but for solidarity, support, and constructive solutions.

JKBC remains committed to advocating for the rights of traders and ensuring that their voices are heard. جموں و کشمیر بزنس کنفیڈریشن (JKBC) کے صدر محمد الطاف ڈار نے بعض لیڈروں کی جانب سے دیے گئے حالیہ غیر حساس اور غیر ذمہ دارانہ بیانات کی سخت الفاظ میں مذمت کی ہے، جنہوں نے مالی مشکلات کے شکار تاجروں کو اپنے گھر بیچنے کا مشورہ دیا۔

ایک سخت ردعمل میں، الطاف ڈار نے کہا:

> "میری سمجھ سے باہر ہے کہ اگر کوئی این پی اے (NPA) ہو گیا ہے یا مالی مشکلات کا شکار ہے، تو اس کی بڑی وجہ کشمیر میں بدامنی، بار بار کی ہڑتالیں، طویل لاک ڈاؤنز، اور کورونا وبا کے تباہ کن اثرات ہیں۔"

انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ اس قسم کے بیانات نہایت غیر ذمہ دارانہ ہیں اور یہ اس بات کی عکاسی کرتے ہیں کہ ایسے افراد کو تاجر طبقے کی مشکلات اور حالات کی کوئی سمجھ یا ہمدردی نہیں ہے۔

> "ایسے بے حس مشورے دینے والوں کو شرم آنی چاہیے۔ لیڈروں کو چاہیے کہ وہ ان مشکلات کی اصل وجوہات کو سمجھیں اور خود کو حقیقی تاجر نمائندہ ثابت کریں۔"

محمد الطاف ڈار نے زور دے کر کہا کہ یہ وقت تنقید یا الزام تراشی کا نہیں، بلکہ اتحاد، ہمدردی اور تعمیری حل تلاش کرنے کا ہے۔

> "ہمیں تاجروں کی حوصلہ افزائی کرنی ہے، نہ کہ انہیں مزید مایوسی میں دھکیلنا۔"

جے کے بی سی تاجروں کے حقوق کی ترجمانی اور ان کی آواز بلند کرنے کے اپنے عزم کو دہراتی ہے، اور تمام متعلقہ فریقین سے اپیل کرتی ہے کہ وہ باہمی احترام، احساس اور ذمہ داری کے ساتھ معیشت کی بحالی کے لیے مل کر کام کریں۔
