KTMF seeks probe into Smart City & Disaster Management funds since 2014 floods – calls for transparency, accountability & long-term flood preparedness.

Srinagar | September 05, 2025: The Kashmir Traders And Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), through its Head Office at Koker Bazar and Central Office Nowhatta, has called for a comprehensive investigation into the funds allocated for the Smart City Project and Disaster Management since the catastrophic floods of 2014.

In a statement, KTMF emphasized that all expenditures on dredging works and the involvement of concerned companies must be placed under close scrutiny, with the investigation findings made public to uphold transparency and accountability.

The KTMF leadership, comprising Chairman Haji Mushtaq Ahmed Darial, General Secretary (Org) Mohammad Altaf Dar (Rajbagh), Haji Mushtaq Ahmad Sagar, Farooq Ahmed Batqoo, Treasurer Showkat Ahmed Bhat, Bashir Ahmed Siraj, Ghulam Rasool Shah, Haji Altaf Hussain Dar, Haji Nissar Ahmed (Downtown), Surjeet Singh, Deepak Maniswalia, S.A. Rashid, Sheikh Hilal Ahmed, Mohammad Shafi Wani, Mushtaq Ahmed Degloo, along with other senior members, further urged that PILs filed against the Flood Control Department and Smart City Project must be actively pursued, while RTIs related to flood management in critical areas should be acted upon without delay.

Underscoring the recurring flood threats in the Valley, KTMF pressed the government to devise long-term preventive strategies, conduct genuine assessments of damages, and ensure timely compensation to the affected communities.

They reiterated that disasters of this scale must be declared as natural calamities, enabling comprehensive relief and rehabilitation measures for the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

Srinagar | August 8, 2025: The Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), in an urgent meeting held at its Head Office, Koker Bazar, and Central Office, Nowhatta, Shehri Khass, Downtown, expressed deep outrage over the recent rotten meat scandal, terming it an unfortunate and shameful episode that has gravely betrayed public trust.

The meeting was chaired by KTMF Chairman Haji Mushtaq Ahmed Darial and attended by General Secretary (Org) Mohammad Altaf Dar, Treasurer Showkat Ahmed Bhat, and senior leaders Haji Mushtaq Ahmed Saghar, Farooq Ahmed Batqoo, Ghulam Rasool Shah, Sheikh Hilal Ahmed, S. A. Rashid, Haji Nissar Ahmed (Downtown), Mohammad Sarwar Dar, Surgeet Singh, Deepak Maniswalia, Mohammad Shafi Wani, Mushtaq Ahmed Degloo, along with other key members.

The federation called for immediate and transparent action against all those involved, stressing that mere social media statements by the concerned Minister promising “stern action” are meaningless unless backed by visible on-ground measures. KTMF alleged that instead of action, there appears to be shielding of the guilty, which is unacceptable.

“KTMF stands for ethical business practices and will never tolerate acts that endanger public health for personal gain. This is a wake-up call for both authorities and society to uphold morality, transparency, and accountability,” the leadership stated.

The Leadership of Kashmir Traders And Manufacturers Federation urged the administration to conduct a thorough investigation, ensure strict punishment for the culprits, and put in place stronger monitoring mechanisms to prevent such incidents in the future.

Srinagar | August 8, 2025: Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) Head office Koker bazar Central office Nowhatta Shehri Khass Down town Leaders visited and participated in the Mubarak nikkah &. marriage ceremony of the son of Chairman Haji Mushtaq Ahmed Darial and the daughter of Bashir Ahmed Siraj.

KTMF Delegation Offers Condolences in Srinagar

Srinagar, [July 28,2025] : A delegation of the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) comprising General Secretary Mohammad Altaf Dar( Rajbagh), Treasurer Showkat Ahmed Bhat, Senior Leader Farooq Ahmed Batqoo, Bashir Ahmed Siraj, S.A. Rashid, and Ayjaz Ahmed, visited the residence of Sajjad Gul at Khankah Mohalla Srinagar to express grief and solidarity on the sad demise of his cousin. The leaders offered prayers for the departed soul and conveyed their sympathies to the bereaved family.

Later, Mohammad Altaf Dar (Rajbagh)and S.A. Rashid visited Kursoo Rajbagh to extend their heartfelt condolences at the residence of Haji Hakim Abdul Majid Khan (Dar). They prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family during this difficult time.

The KTMF leaders expressed their support and shared prayers for the departed souls, highlighting the importance of standing together in moments of sorrow.
