Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) Strongly Condemns Rotten Meat Scandal; Demands Immediate Action and Accountability
Srinagar | August 8, 2025: The Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), in an urgent meeting held at its Head Office, Koker Bazar, and Central Office, Nowhatta, Shehri Khass, Downtown, expressed deep outrage over the recent rotten meat scandal, terming it an unfortunate and shameful episode that has gravely betrayed public trust.
The meeting was chaired by KTMF Chairman Haji Mushtaq Ahmed Darial and attended by General Secretary (Org) Mohammad Altaf Dar, Treasurer Showkat Ahmed Bhat, and senior leaders Haji Mushtaq Ahmed Saghar, Farooq Ahmed Batqoo, Ghulam Rasool Shah, Sheikh Hilal Ahmed, S. A. Rashid, Haji Nissar Ahmed (Downtown), Mohammad Sarwar Dar, Surgeet Singh, Deepak Maniswalia, Mohammad Shafi Wani, Mushtaq Ahmed Degloo, along with other key members.
The federation called for immediate and transparent action against all those involved, stressing that mere social media statements by the concerned Minister promising “stern action” are meaningless unless backed by visible on-ground measures. KTMF alleged that instead of action, there appears to be shielding of the guilty, which is unacceptable.
“KTMF stands for ethical business practices and will never tolerate acts that endanger public health for personal gain. This is a wake-up call for both authorities and society to uphold morality, transparency, and accountability,” the leadership stated.
The Leadership of Kashmir Traders And Manufacturers Federation urged the administration to conduct a thorough investigation, ensure strict punishment for the culprits, and put in place stronger monitoring mechanisms to prevent such incidents in the future.
