Heartiest congratulations to our Special Olympics family and the people of Jammu & Kashmir on the remarkable achievement of our Special Athlete, Ayaz Ahmad, whose name has been announced in the Indian Football Team for the prestigious Gothia Cup in Sweden, featuring teams from more than 30 countries.

This achievement is not just a personal success; it is a powerful message that dedication, perseverance, and belief can turn dreams into reality. Ayaz's journey reflects the limitless potential of our athletes when given the right opportunities and support.

Special appreciation goes to Firdous Ahmad Najar, whose tireless efforts, guidance, and commitment have played a vital role in this success. We also extend our gratitude to the dedicated coaches, staff members, volunteers, and supporters of Special Olympics Bharat Jammu & Kashmir Kashmir Chapter for their continuous hard work in empowering athletes and transforming lives.

Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS), in collaboration with Enable India, proudly inaugurated the GarvSe Centre under Rural Livelihood Mission and the 2nd Digital Literacy Lab under initiative at VMS Bemina Bypass, Srinagar with ribbon- cutting.

The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Prof. Dr. Mir Mohammad Maqbool (Founder President, VMS), VMS), Ms. Mathoora Masoom JKAS (Director Floriculture Kashmir & Chief Guest), Prof. Parvaiz Ahmad (Dean Students Welfare, University of Kashmir), Mr. Pranesh Nagri (Trustee, Enable India), Mr. Moses Chowdary Gorepati (COO, Enable India), Mr Guru Prasad, Director Rural livelihood Mission EnAble India , Prof. Masooda Yasin (Vice President VMS), Dr. Farooq Ahmad Kaloo (Secretary, VMS), Mr Majid Bala (Board Member VMS) along with VMS administration.

Empowering Mobility. Enabling Independence.

Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS) today successfully organized a large-scale distribution and training program of Saarthi Smart Canes and smart mobility devices for more than 200 visually impaired persons from across Jammu & Kashmir at its main campus, Bemina, Srinagar. The initiative aimed at promoting independent mobility, safety, dignity, accessibility, and inclusion through innovative assistive technology.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Akramullah Tak, Additional Commissioner Kashmir; Prof. (Dr.) Mir Mohammad Maqbool, President/Founder VMS; Dr. Farooq Ahmad Kaloo; Prof. Masooda Yaseen; Mr. Amit, Zonal Relationship Manager (North), Hyundai India Insurance Broking Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Dinesh K. Bahl from Torchit Electronics; Mr. Ayoub Bhat, Administrator VMS; Mr. Javid Ahmad Tak, Chairman Humanity Welfare Organisation Helpline; Mr. Abdul Rashid from JK Handicapped Association; Mr. Mumazil, Chairman Caring People Welfare Foundation Trust; along with representatives from Hyundai India Insurance Broking Pvt. Ltd. and other dignitaries.

A special hands-on training session on the use and functionality of Saarthi Smart Canes and smart mobility devices was conducted by Mr. Dinesh K. Bahl from Torchit Electronics, empowering beneficiaries with advanced assistive technology for safer and more confident mobility.

The beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude towards VMS and supporting organizations for bringing innovative assistive solutions to Jammu & Kashmir and helping visually impaired individuals achieve greater confidence, independence, and inclusion in society.

The Employees State Insurance Corporation or ESIC today held a medical cm health awareness camp at VMS Bemina today. While the VMS provided the logistics the ESIC team organises thorough medical check up of about 50 employees for various health issues impacting their routine life.
The camp witnessed active participation from employees, who wanted their various health issues diagnosed and treated. The ESIC team conducted health check-ups and distributed free of cost medicines to the health workers of the VMS during the programme.

The primary objective of the camp was to create awareness among the employees regarding the benefits and facilities available under ESIC Scheme for those already registered under the scheme. Medical experts and officials from ESIC Hospital Ompora sensitized the staff about healthcare services, insurance benefits, and other welfare measures provided through ESIC.

Special emphasis was also laid on educating unprivileged staff members about the importance and advantages of the ESIC Scheme, encouraging them to avail themselves of the social security and healthcare benefits offered under the programme.

The management of VMS expressed gratitude to the team from ESIC Hospital Ompora for their valuable support and cooperation in making the camp successful and beneficial for the employees.

On 21st May 2026, Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS) delivered and fitted orthotic aids to beneficiaries identified during the November 2025 camp at Leh.

A total of 23 AFOs, 3 Wrist-Hand Splints, and 4 KAFOs were provided to beneficiaries to improve mobility, comfort, and independence in their daily lives.

Two beneficiaries requiring advanced care were further referred to the Deformity Clinic at SKIMS JVC Hospital for surgical intervention and specialised management.

Every assistive device delivered is a step towards dignity, inclusion, and a better quality of life for Persons with Disabilities.
