Residents' Welfare, Coordination & Reform Committee Holds Community Meeting at Rajbagh
Srinagar, August 2,2026 : A meeting of the Residents' Welfare, Coordination & Reform Committee was held today at Rajbagh.
The meeting, convened by M Altafdar Rajbagh , was attended by respected clerics, members of Masjid Management Committees, Mohalla Committees/ local residents, traders, and volunteers. Participants discussed the need for collective efforts to address prevailing social issues and to promote peace, discipline, cleanliness, moral values, and a responsible community environment, emphasized that lasting social reform is possible only through the active cooperation of all sections of society. The meeting resolved to strengthen coordination among residents, religious institutions, educational establishments, traders, and volunteers to preserve the peaceful and family-friendly character of residential areas and to work jointly for the welfare of the community.

Civil Society & Senior Citizens Kashmir J&K Congratulate M***i & Qazi Nisar Ahmad Akhoon on His Appointment as Member of the Muslim Personal Law Board
Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir: The members of Civil Society & Senior Citizens Kashmir have extended their heartfelt congratulations to M***i & Qazi Nisar Ahmad Akhoon on his prestigious appointment as a Member of the Muslim Personal Law Board by the Grand M***i (M***i-e-Azam) of Jammu & Kashmir, M***i Nasir-ul-Islam.
Describing the appointment as a wise, visionary, and highly commendable decision, the members stated that it has been warmly welcomed by religious scholars, intellectuals, social leaders, and members of civil society. They observed that the nomination is a fitting recognition of M***i Sahib's lifelong dedication to Islamic scholarship, justice, and selfless public service.
A native of Lalpora, Lolab, District Kupwara, M***i & Qazi Nisar Ahmad Akhoon is widely respected for his profound knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) and his extensive experience in religious and judicial affairs. Over the years, he has successfully headed Dar-ul-Ifta and Dar-ul-Qaza, providing authentic Islamic guidance and resolving complex religious, legal, and social issues in accordance with the principles of Shariah. His distinguished services at Rajbagh and Bemina have earned him widespread respect for his scholarship, integrity, judicial wisdom, and administrative excellence.
The members also appreciated M***i Sahib's pioneering role in Online Ifta, through which he has effectively utilised modern communication technology to make authentic Islamic guidance accessible to people across different regions. His ability to harmonise traditional Islamic scholarship with contemporary means of communication has greatly benefited the community and strengthened public access to reliable religious guidance.
Expressing confidence in his leadership, the members stated that M***i & Qazi Nisar Ahmad Akhoon's inclusion in the Muslim Personal Law Board will further strengthen the institution and enhance its ability to address the religious, legal, and social challenges facing the Muslim community with wisdom, balance, and foresight. They further observed that his appointment will serve as an inspiration for a new generation of Islamic scholars, encouraging them to dedicate themselves to knowledge, justice, and meaningful service to society.

Srinagar, June 10, 2026: The Management of Civil Society & Senior Citizens Kashmir J&K has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Late Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, R/O Mahnoor, Chadoora, father-in-law of Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo of Badipora, Chadoora.
In a condolence message, senior members including M. Altafdar Rajbagh, S.A. Rashid, Abdul Rashid Bhat, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Muzaffar Ahmed Rather, Abdul Hamid Bhat, Ghulam Ahmed Chetah, Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar, Abdul Rashid Parray, Fayaz Ahmed Dharma, Sheikh Hilal Ahmed, and other distinguished members conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo and the entire bereaved family.
The members particularly expressed solidarity with the wife of Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo on the irreparable loss of her beloved father and prayed for courage and patience for the family during this difficult time.

Civil Society & Senior Citizens Kashmir (J&K) mourn the demise of Fayaz Ahmad Parray.
Srinagar | April 09, 2026: Civil Society & Senior Citizens Kashmir (J&K) have expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of Fayaz Ahmad Parray, a resident of Yayil Rawalpora, who passed away yesterday evening.
The management, including M Altafdar Rajbagh,Mohammad Amin Sofi, S A Rashid Sheikh Hilal Ahmed, Sheikh Latif, Mohammad Shafi Wani, Popinder Singh (Bittu), Deepak Manswalia, Muneer Ahmed, Ghulam Ahmed Cheta, Abdul Khalid Patloo, Muzzaffar Ahmed Rather, Abdul Hamid Bhat, and others, extended their sympathies to the bereaved family and loved ones.

M Altafdar Rajbagh stated that his demise is a great loss to society, as he truly represented the spirit of humanity, generosity, and service. He added that his contributions will always be remembered and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Srinagar/Jammu | February 2026: Civil Society & Senior Citizens Kashmir J&K have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the mother of renowned Kashmiri singer and top-grade vocalist Waheed Jeelani.
In a condolence message, the management and senior members including M Altaf Dar (Rajbagh), Mohammad Amin Sofi, S A Rashid, Sheikh Hilal Ahmed, Sheikh Latif, and others conveyed their deepest sympathies to Waheed Jeelani and his entire family during this hour of immense loss.

“Specially-Abled Persons Are an Integral Part of Our Society”

Attended the programme at CRC Bemina today on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities
The event highlighted the importance of empowering specially-abled individuals and recognizing their unique abilities.

Srinagar, Dec 03, 2025: Socio Political Activist, Senior Trade Union Leader and civic reformer Mohammad Altaf Dar attended a special programme at the Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Bemina, organised to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event focused on promoting inclusivity, skill development, and various welfare schemes aimed at empowering specially-abled individuals across Jammu & Kashmir.

During the programme, the Director CRC emphasized that specially-abled persons are “an integral part of our society who possess unique abilities.” He underscored the collective responsibility of society and institutions to ensure these individuals receive the right platforms, opportunities, and support systems to showcase their talents and lead dignified lives.

M Altafdar Rajbagh extended his sincere gratitude to Dr. Mehjabeen Nabi Chairperson Care Foundation for the invitation, and My heartfelt thanks also to Dr. Mehjabeen Nabi and Management Care Foundation for the kind invitation. appreciated CRC’s dedicated efforts toward inclusive education, capacity-building, and accessibility.
