Drug Abuse Free Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh: A Collective Responsibility
By Er. Irfan Mirza
Drug abuse is one of the most serious challenges facing our society today. The increasing use of narcotics among youth is not only destroying individual lives but also affecting families, communities, and the future of our nation. Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, known for their rich culture, heritage, and peaceful traditions, must stand united against this growing menace.
Young people are the backbone of any society. When they fall victim to drugs, their education, health, and careers suffer immensely. Many families have experienced emotional and financial hardships due to substance abuse. Therefore, it is our collective responsibility to spread awareness and provide guidance to the younger generation.
The fight against drugs cannot be won by law enforcement agencies alone. Parents, teachers, religious leaders, social organizations, and political workers must work together to educate people about the harmful effects of drug addiction. Awareness campaigns, counseling centers, sports activities, and skill-development programs should be promoted to keep youth engaged in productive activities.
As responsible citizens, we must encourage those struggling with addiction to seek treatment and rehabilitation instead of stigmatizing them. Recovery is possible when society extends support and compassion to affected individuals.
Let us pledge to build a drug-free Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh where every young person has the opportunity to achieve their dreams and contribute positively to society. Together, through awareness, unity, and determination, we can protect our future generations from the dangers of drug abuse.
"Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life."
