Dr. Prabhakar Reddy IAS visited Gorilli Village, T.K. Jammu Panchayat in Manyam District and interacted with tribal communities along with the ARTS team and Field Coordinators (Welfare).
During the interface meeting, the ARTS team submitted representations on key issues including ROFR implementation, pending DKT land matters, construction of a Check Dam for irrigation and water conservation, and “Larva Vata” initiatives for malaria prevention in tribal villages.
The visit strengthened coordination between the district administration and grassroots communities towards sustainable tribal development, livelihood security, health awareness, and natural resource management.

The ARTS team, through its JIVA and Sahaja Projects and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), celebrated International Farmers Day to recognize and honor the valuable contributions of farmers towards agriculture and rural development. The celebration emphasized sustainable farming practices, farmer empowerment, and collective efforts in improving livelihoods and strengthening the agricultural sector.

Promoting turmeric cultivation as an intercrop in Cashew Gardens under the Slope Agricultural Land Technology (SALT) approach by supplying quality turmeric seed to SALT farmers through convergence with the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA). This initiative, facilitated by the ARTS team, aims to enhance soil conservation, improve land productivity, and provide additional income opportunities to farmers through sustainable agricultural practices.

Facilitating soil testing to assess and improve micronutrient levels, the ARTS team actively supported farmers under the JIVA and Sahaja projects. Based on the test results, appropriate soil enrichment practices were promoted by providing inputs such as Ghana Jeevamrutham and PMDS. With the active cooperation and participation of farmers, these efforts aim to enhance soil health, improve nutrient balance, and promote sustainable agricultural productivity.

Facilitated the implementation of Slope Agricultural Land Technology (SALT) by promoting stone bunding across contour lines to effectively stabilize soil and conserve moisture. This intervention supported sustainable farming practices, enabled intercropping, and enhanced income opportunities. During this year, the ARTS team successfully reached and benefited 122 farmers through this initiative.

Facilitated a Crop Cutting Experiment (CCE) for line-sown paddy (Sidhi Sanalu – a local tribal variety) under the Sahaja Project, implemented by the ARTS team. The crop was cultivated using Natural Farming (NF) practices, and the yield recorded was 23 bags per acre.

Promoting the aggregation of Araku Coffee beans through Bhoomi FPO, supported by ARTS and NABARD, aims to strengthen farmer collectives, improve market access, and enhance the overall value chain for tribal coffee growers. This initiative focuses on streamlining procurement, ensuring better price realization for farmers, and promoting sustainable and quality-driven coffee production in the Araku region.

International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Smt. K. Prameela Ravi Kumar, Smt. M. Paramma (National Awardee), Smt. Bhagyalakshmi from KVK, Smt. Ratna Kumari from ADA, Smt. Neelavani (Principal), Sri Ramesh Krishna (DDM), and Sri Dinesh Kumar Reddy (DDM) graced the occasion. Community leaders, FPO leaders, and members of the ARTS team also participated in the programme, making the celebration meaningful and inspiring.

The ARTS team successfully facilitated a Convergence Meet cm Training Programme on Natural Farming, focusing on Seed Systems, Organic Certification, and Critical Water Management. The programme was conducted for Field Coordinators, CEOs, and Board of Directors (BODs) of Adivasi Mahila FPO, Manyam Sahaja FPO, and Adivasi Mitra FPO. The training aimed to strengthen institutional capacities, promote sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices, enhance awareness on organic certification processes, and improve water resource management for long-term agricultural sustainability. This convergence platform also enabled knowledge sharing, inter-organizational coordination, and strategic planning to support farmer livelihoods and ecological conservation in tribal and rural communities.

The ARTS team, through its Field Coordinators (Entitlements), successfully facilitated a comprehensive awareness and facilitation campaign to support community members in completing E-KYC for key government welfare and entitlement schemes, including PM-KISAN, ROFR (Recognition of Forest Rights), DKT land titles, MGNREGA, and land mutation services.

The ARTS team strengthened the JIVA team through a convergence meeting with the Farmer Producer Organization (FPO), focusing on Rabi season production planning, capacity building, and market linkage strategies. The meeting emphasized coordinated action for improving productivity, collective marketing, value addition, and sustainable income generation for farmers.
