The Chitkara Alumni Association Network (CAAN), in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), is delighted to present an insightful session titled “Industry Connect Mentorship: Bridging Vision with Expertise.”
Scheduled for 21st April 2026 from 11:00 AM onwards, this session aims to provide a dynamic platform for exploring the evolving landscape of technology, industry, mentorship, and innovation. It will emphasize the growing importance of technology-driven innovation and industry-oriented mentorship in shaping future-ready professionals.
The session will be facilitated by Prateek Saini (Batch 2010, ECE Alumni), currently serving as a Program Manager at Gemini Solutions. With over 12 years of rich industry experience, he has previously worked with leading organizations such as HCL Technologies and DEL.
He will share valuable insights on industry transformation, emerging technology trends, and the critical role of mentorship in professional growth, offering participants a meaningful perspective on aligning academic learning with real-world industry expectations.

Chitkara School of Pharmacy, Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, successfully organized a 2-day workshop on Innovative Techniques and Creative Thinking for Building a Successful Startup dated April 8-9, 2026, in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh. The workshop was initiated by Dr. Mahesh D. Burande and Mr. Sameer Burande (IPER, Pune) to provide participants with practical insights into entrepreneurship. It emphasized idea generation, business model development, and problem-solving skills through interactive sessions. Examples of successful pharma startups such as 3DFying (3D-printed meds) and MedGenome (genomics) were discussed to illustrate innovation in drug development and rapid vaccine production. A mock investor meeting was conducted where students pitched their ideas and received feedback, enhancing their confidence and presentation skills. The event concluded with an online assessment for awarding e-certificates. Participants shared positive feedback, appreciating the engaging format and practical exposure to startup development.

Chitkara School of Pharmacy conducted ‘Ideathon on innovative approaches of AI/IoT in healthcare and sustainable environmental management’ in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) R& D activity, Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh on April 7, 2026 on the occasion of World Health Day. The ideathon highlighted innovation in applying AI and IoT to advance healthcare and sustainable environmental management. Participants used creative thinking to design solutions such as smart health monitoring systems, predictive diagnostics, and efficient waste and resource management models. The event encouraged a startup mindset, motivating teams to transform ideas into scalable and impactful ventures. It fostered collaboration, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary learning while addressing real-world challenges. Chitkara School of Pharmacy organized Oral and Poster Presentations on ‘Innovations in Tuberculosis Management’ in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh on March 24, 2026 on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day. Innovations in tuberculosis management are transforming diagnosis and treatment outcomes. Students presented innovative techniques such as GeneXpert molecular testing, whole genome sequencing, and AI-assisted chest X-ray analysis for early and accurate detection. Novel treatments include bedaquiline- and delamanid-based regimens for drug-resistant TB, along with shorter MDR-TB treatment protocols were elaborated. Innovations like nanotechnology-based drug delivery, host-directed therapies, and therapeutic vaccines were presented for their effectiveness and reducing treatment duration. Digital tools such as 99DOTS adherence monitoring and video-supported therapy (VOT) enhance patient compliance. Overall, the participants learned about innovative advancements to strengthen TB control efforts, improve cure rates, and support global health goals.

Chitkara School of Pharmacy organized a one-day workshop on Innovative Computational Strategies in Pharmacokinetics in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh on March 11, 2026 highlighting modern tools transforming drug research and development. Techniques such as physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling, population pharmacokinetics (PopPK), and machine learning–based prediction models were discussed for accurate drug behavior analysis. Participants explored molecular docking, Monte Carlo simulations, and in silico ADME/Tox prediction to optimize drug safety and efficacy. Innovations like cloud-based simulation platforms and big data analytics further enhanced research capabilities. These approaches enable faster drug development, reduce experimental costs, and improve precision in dosage design, supporting advanced pharmaceutical research and innovation. The workshop ended with a hands-on training and practical exposure in pharmacokinetic data interpretation and IVIVC Correlation analysis using Winnonline software implemented in pharmaceutical research.

Pharmacy innovation is opening new avenues for entrepreneurship and national development. Participants presented emerging techniques such as pharmacogenomics, CRISPR-based gene editing, smart drug delivery systems, and biosensors for real-time monitoring for transforming healthcare. Innovations like robotic pharmacy dispensing, mobile health (mHealth) applications and cloud-based patient data management were elaborated for improved efficiency and accessibility. Chitkara University College of Nursing, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) , organized a three-day workshop titled “ Digital and Entrepreneurial Solutions in Mental Health Nursing ” from 2nd to 4th April 2026 for B.Sc. Nursing VI Semester students. The workshop aimed to empower students with an entrepreneurial perspective to design innovative solutions for modern mental health challenges by bridging the gap between clinical psychiatric nursing and technology and fostering nurse-led innovation in healthcare.
The event included expert sessions on digital mental health tools such as mobile applications, chatbots, and tele-mental health, along with training in design thinking and problem-solving approaches. Students actively participated in developing and presenting innovative ideas, receiving expert feedback on feasibility and implementation.
The workshop successfully enhanced students’ skills in integrating technology into healthcare practices, strengthened their entrepreneurial mindset, and prepared them to contribute effectively to advancements in mental health care and the transformation of modern healthcare delivery.

Chitkara university college of Nursing, in collaboration with the Institution's Innovation Council(IIC) organised a workshop on “Improvements in Cardiovascular Healthcare Science through Innovative Solutions” at Paras Hospital, Panchkula on 6th April 2026 for the students of B.Sc. Nursing.

The session was delivered by Dr. Deepak Puri, Chairman, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Paras Health, Panchkula, a renowned expert in the field of cardiac sciences. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of recent advancements and innovative approaches in cardiovascular healthcare.

Dr. Puri provided deep insights into the latest technological advancements, including minimally invasive cardiac surgeries, AI-based diagnostics, and modern patient care strategies. The Department of Computer Applications, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an expert session on “Next-Gen Cybersecurity: Innovations Transforming Industry.”The resource person for the session was Mr. Jaspal Singh, Director – IT Security, Fidelity Information Services.
The expert session proved to be highly insightful and engaging. The speaker emphasized the role of innovation and AI in cybersecurity, highlighting the emerging concepts of Adversary AI and Defender AI, where attackers use AI to launch sophisticated threats while defenders leverage AI for advanced detection and prevention. The session covered various types of cyber-attacks, supported by global statistics, helping participants understand the increasing scale of cyber risks. Practical guidance on protecting oneself, including the importance of using strong passwords and secure practices, was also discussed. A key highlight was the demonstration of live attacks and practical scenarios, which provided hands-on learning and made the session highly impactful and relevant for the audience.
