Chitkara School of Pharmacy, Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) successfully organized a workshop on ‘Innovations in Combating Antimicrobial Resistance: Emerging Strategies and Future Perspectives’ dated 17th-18th September, 2026. The workshop was conducted to create awareness about the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and its impact on global healthcare. Dr. Anjna Sharma highlighted innovative approaches, including the development of novel antimicrobial agents, nanotechnology, advanced drug delivery systems, and alternative therapeutic strategies to combat resistant microorganisms. The session also emphasized the role of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in translating scientific discoveries into practical and commercially viable healthcare solutions. The innovations included Artificial Intelligence, Bacteriophage Therapy, CRISPR-Cas Technology, Rapid Diagnostics, Nanotechnology, Antimicrobial Peptides, Novel Antibiotics, Combination Therapy, Vaccination, Microbiome Therapy, Genomic Surveillance, Digital Antimicrobial Stewardship, One Health Approach, Antimicrobial Coatings, Wastewater Surveillance. A poster presentation was organized alongside the expert talk to encourage students to explore emerging technologies, innovative ideas, and sustainable approaches for addressing AMR. The event enhanced students’ scientific knowledge, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking.

Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), successfully hosted an expert session on 10th October 2026.

The Chitkara Story Lab is an engaging expert session aimed at fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students and inspiring them to turn innovative ideas into impactful ventures.

The session featured insights and experiences from inspiring entrepreneurs:

Divam Wadhwa – Founder, Chai Nagri
Sanya Singla – Founder, Allurance
Karan Batra – Founder, Pixel Punch
Manik Chopra – Founder, Fufu Turtles

The session highlighted the importance of creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and opportunity identification in addressing real-world challenges. Students gained valuable insights into transforming ideas into viable business ventures, understanding market needs, and developing innovative solutions that create value.

The discussion also emphasised essential entrepreneurial skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, decision-making, and adaptability, while introducing students to the startup ecosystem, including incubation centres, mentorship, and institutional support.

Through this enriching interaction, students were encouraged to embrace innovation, explore entrepreneurial opportunities, and view entrepreneurship as a promising career pathway.

The AIU–Chitkara University Himachal Pradesh Academic and Administrative Development Centre (AIU-CUHP-AADC), in collaboration with Red Hat Academy (RHA), Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, under the aegis of MHRD Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a One-Week Online Faculty Development Programme titled “AI-Driven Interdisciplinary Data Analytics for Research and Innovation” from 23rd to 29th September 2026, with 62 participants and 11 resource persons, including 4 international experts. Participants explored AI in education, Power BI, deep learning, large language models, AI-driven cybersecurity, smart cities and IoT, exploratory data analysis and ethical issues in AI through live demonstrations and hands-on sessions. The FDP emphasized Research Excellence, Experiential Learning, Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Responsible AI. Overall, the programme was informative and engaging, providing valuable exposure to cutting-edge AI technologies and their practical applications.

The ACM Student Chapter, Chitkara University Himachal Pradesh, successfully organized an Industrial Visit to bebo Technologies, Chandigarh, on 29 September 2026, with the participation of 45 students. The visit aimed to provide students with meaningful industry exposure and bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world professional practices.

The visit commenced with a comprehensive company tour, giving students first-hand exposure to the organization’s work environment, operational processes, and technology-driven practices. This was followed by three insightful and interactive sessions conducted by the bebo Technologies team, covering in-demand technologies, the recruitment and interview process, HR expectations from freshers, professional presentation, and the technical and soft skills required to become industry-ready.

The sessions included extensive Q&A and two-way interaction, enabling students to seek practical guidance on technology trends, interview preparation, technical and soft skills, workplace expectations, and professional presentation. These interactions helped students gain a clearer understanding of industry requirements and the competencies needed to build successful careers in the technology sector.

The visit concluded with a motivational interaction encouraging students to embrace continuous learning, upskilling, and adaptability. Overall, the visit enhanced students’ industry awareness, career readiness, technical understanding, and professional skills, while helping them connect their academic knowledge with practical industry applications.

Chitkara University recently hosted EcoPravah 2026 – Sustainability Warriors Challenge, an insightful session bringing together industry leaders and changemakers to discuss sustainability, climate action, innovation, and the future of responsible development.

The session featured Dr. Nitin Verma, Principal, Chitkara College of Pharmacy; Vineet Khurana, CEO, SACC & Co-organiser, EcoPravah; Rama Kant, Director, EPIC Ambala; Kautaq Cheema, Assistant Director, Office of University Communication, Chitkara University; Abha Sharma Incubation Manager Chitkara University and Sonu Bajaj Founder, WeIncubate & Organiser, EcoPravah.

The key points explored:

• Sustainability as the responsibility of today and the legacy of tomorrow
• Turning climate awareness into meaningful action
• Transforming industry risks and challenges into opportunities
• Encouraging youth to observe problems and create innovative solutions
• The importance of sustainable practices, civic responsibility, and environmental consciousness

Adding an entrepreneurial and solution-driven dimension to the session, five student teams pitched their innovative ideas focused on addressing real-world sustainability challenges, demonstrating how observation, creativity, and problem-solving can translate environmental concerns into practical solutions.

The conversation also explored how industries are adopting good practices, modifying infrastructure, and creating sustainable solutions, while encouraging students to observe problems and turn them into opportunities for innovation.

The session reinforced one powerful message: Responsibility lies where capability lies, observe, innovate, learn from mistakes, and build a more sustainable future.

MIC Activity in titled “Initiatives & Programmes to Support Innovation in HEIs - Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog” was held at Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, on dt. 25th August 2026 in online mode. The session started with the addressing of the introduction by Dr. Dipan Sahu. After that Mr. Abhishek Ranjan introduced the resource persons with the audience. Mr. Das started the session his session with the introduction of ATL innovation mission. He highlighted the history of the mission and functioning of it. He explained the ecosystems and its different aspects. He explained about the importance of number of start-up, successful, better products and better services in the existence of an ecosystems. He explained about the Atal Tinkering Lab and their importance in the schools. He highlighted the idea of government in building these labs. He explained about various initiatives of Atal innovation mission.
After Mr. Das, Ms. Dipali highlighted the different types of programs organised by the mission and Atal Tinkering lab. She elaborated on Viksit Bharat and Hackathons organised for the students at school level. She described the journey of an idea to an incubation centre and finally to entrepreneurship. She discussed about the boot camps organised to foster skill of entrepreneurship and innovation in the school students. She advised to visit ATL in the schools. He also discussed about driving innovation through funding startups, Atal New India Challenge,
After her Mr. Das again discussion about Atal incubation centres and their importance in HEIs. He explained about the benefits that these centres create in a HEI. Overall, the programme served as a valuable platform for enhancing awareness about national initiatives supporting innovation in HEIs. It encouraged institutions to strengthen their innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and motivated students and faculty to actively participate in innovation-driven activities, thereby contributing to the development of a vibrant and sustainable startup culture in the country.
