Though the Manipur Gorkha community has a long history in Manipur, we have always remained peace-loving and hardworking people. We strongly believe in hard work, peace, harmony, and coexistence. In every situation, we cooperate with the government and faithfully follow the laws and order system. None of our youths are involved in gun culture nor do our elders ever promote violence.
For generations, we have remained hopeful that better days would come for us someday. However, looking at the present situation today, it deeply pains us to realize that the government appears more interested in political gain rather than sincerely serving the people of Manipur on humanitarian grounds by strictly maintaining law and order.
The Manipur Gorkha community is one of the minority communities in the state, and sadly, we often feel that we have no strong voice to address our issues or represent our social concerns to bring meaningful change. Regardless of our peaceful nature, we frequently become victims of unwanted ransom demands, blockades, and repeated threats from armed groups etc.
Once again, our hopes were revived when Manipur received its so-called โdouble-engine government.โ Unfortunately, we have witnessed little to no positive change. Instead, unrest, division, and hatred have only increased to alarming levels. It has now been more than three years since the communal conflict began, yet there is still no visible sign of peace or resolution. These ongoing disturbances have severely affected our daily lives, education, businesses, and the future of our younger generations.
Amid all this suffering, we are deeply saddened and devastated by the tragic death of ๐ ๐๐-๐ฒ๐๐๐ซ-๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ซ๐ฌ. ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ ๐๐๐ฏ๐ข ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฅ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ. If such horrific crimes can enter our society, how can a small minority community like ours ever feel safe and protected?
Most of our youths live far away from home, working tirelessly in different places to support their families and children back in Manipur. ๐๐ก๐จ ๐๐๐ง ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ข๐ง ๐๐ง๐ ๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ฌ๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐ฌ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐จ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ค๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ฒ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ข๐ซ ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ ๐จ๐ง๐๐ฌ ๐๐ญ ๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐? ๐๐ก๐จ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐๐๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ฌ๐ ๐ข๐ง๐ง๐จ๐๐๐ง๐ญ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ฌ?
With heavy hearts, we, the team of Gorkha EmpowerCare Foundation from Israel, strongly condemn the heinous and dreadful murder of Mrs. Puspa Devi Poudyal in Charhajare.
At the same time, we are deeply disappointed and hurt by the silence of the government despite several sit-in protests and public appeals taking place in different areas demanding justice. ๐๐ก๐ฒ ๐ก๐๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ฐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ซ๐๐๐ซ ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฆ ๐๐๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ ๐ฌ๐จ ๐ฐ๐๐๐ค ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ญ ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ณ๐๐ง๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐๐๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ฒ?
Before matters worsen further, we sincerely hope that the so-called double-engine government will understand and respect our genuine concerns, listen to our clear and open demands, and assure safety, justice, and protection for every innocent citizen, especially the minority communities.
