A platform by the artists for the artists, not being aligned with any political party but being politically conscious, sensitive, and pro-active to social causes. এই দেশে নাকি শকুনে ঠুকরে খায় কবির হৃদয় আর শিল্পী না খেতে পেয়ে, বিনা চিকিৎসায় মরে। তার ওপর উত্তরবঙ্গ এমনিতেই কম আলোকপ্রাপ্ত । সেখানকার শিল্পী সে যতই নামী হোক, তার ভাগ্য আরো খারাপ। আর এর সবচেয়ে বড়ো কারণ আমরাই; আমরা কবি -শিল্পী -চিত্রকর -ভা
স্কররা; কারণ আমরা শিল্পী হিসেবে ঐক্যবদ্ধ, সংঘবদ্ধ নই। শিল্পচর্চা দিনের শেষে একক হলেও, একক আর একাকিত্ব এক নয়। একাকিত্ব শুধু শিল্পীর শিল্পকে তার উৎসভূমি থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন করে তাই না, ব্যক্তি শিল্পীকেও সমাজ থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন করে- নিজের থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন করে।
এই করোনা অতিমারী সেসব একা থাকার , একা করার ব্যবস্থায় একেবারে জল ঢেলে দিয়েছে। আমাদের আবার বুঝিয়ে দিয়েছে একে ওপরের পাশে না দাঁড়ালে সবাইকে সাথে না নিয়ে চললে কেউ একা এগোতে পারেনা- কারণ একা হলে অসুখ হলে খাওয়ার দেওয়ার লোক নেই, শ্বাসকষ্ট হলে অক্সিজেন দেওয়ার মানুষ নেই আর মৃত্যূ হলে চিতায় আগুন দেওয়ার বা কবর দেওয়ার লোক নেই। তাই সংঘবদ্ধ হওয়াই একমাত্ৰ পথ ,সমন্বয়ই একমাত্র রাস্তা , সম্পর্কই একমাত্র পাথেয়। "যারে তুমি নিচে ফেল , সে তোমারে বাঁধিবে যে নিচে; পশ্চাতে রেখেছো যারে , সে তোমাকে পশ্চাতে টানিছে " তাই কাউকে পেছনে রাখা যাবেনা , কাউকে বাঁধা দেওয়া যাবেনা-আমরা এগোবো কিন্তু সবাইকে নিয়ে সবার সাথে। আর উত্তরবঙ্গে এই প্রচেষ্টার শুরু করেছে অল্টারনেটিভ আর্টিস্টস ফোরাম। আমরা ঠিক করেছি- যে মাধ্যমেরই শিল্পী হন- চিত্রশিল্পী ভাস্কর কণ্ঠশিল্পী বাদ্যযন্ত্রশিল্পী নাট্যকর্মী যেই হন, তিনি যে রাজনৈতিক দলেরই সমর্থক হোন না হন-আমরা সবাই একজায়গায় একমঞ্চে এসে দাঁড়াবো আমাদের শুধুমাত্র একটা পরিচয় নিয়ে- আমরা শিল্পী।
অল্টারনেটিভ আর্টিস্ট ফোরাম কোনো শিল্পীকে একা হতাশায় অর্থকষ্টে গুমরোতে দেবোনা,কোনো শিল্পীকে অভাবে বিনা চিকিৎসায় মরতে দেবেনা, কোনো শিল্পীকে একা একা অর্থকষ্টে হতাশায় গুমরে কুঁকড়ে থাকতে দেবেনা। আমরা তাদের কথা নিয়ে রাষ্ট্রের-সমাজের দরজায় কড়া নেড়ে যাব আর তাদের লড়াই, আমাদের প্রত্যেকের লড়াই আমরা সবাই একসাথে লড়বো আর সে লড়াই জিতবো।
It is often said that in our country the poets are the feast of the vultures while the artists die without any treatment. While historically North Bengal is on the margin, the artists coming from this region mostly remain unrecognized and severely unlucky. But the main reason behind this marginalization is us only because we are not united. Though any art depends on an individual's perspective; there is a qualitative difference between individual work and individualism. Individualism doesn't only alienate an artist from the material source of his or her art but gradually it alienates the artist from society and then from him/herself. The ongoing COVID19 pandemic has caused tremendous loss and agony to all of us but has taught us a very important lesson. If we continue to be alone, be individualistic then there would be no one to feed us while we are infected, there will be no one to provide us with the oxygen cylinder when we would be dying of suffocation, even there would be no one to perform the last rites. So, the only way out is to be united; on basis of solidarity and sensitivity for each other. No one should be left behind, no one should be left alone or pushed away; we have to progress, together with everyone. This initiative has been taken up by the Alternative Artists' Forum in North Bengal- any artist, of any art form and medium, with whatever political lineages and belief would be here together with only one identity- the identity of an artist, the identity of the work we do. Alternative Artists' Forum will not let any artist die without treatment, will not let any artist fight her life struggle alone, will not let any artist feel depressed and marginalized because of her financial burden. WE ARE IN IT TOGETHER AND WE ALL WILL FIGHT OUR OWN FIGHTS, TOGETHER. AND WE WILL WIN.
